Odd FS9 Engine Sound Crackling

Featured Replies

I had the same problem. I found that if I had the MASTER volume of the computer too high, it crackled. I turned down the master volume to about 75-80% and do not have any crackling anymore (click the speaker in the right hand task tray and lower the slider to around 80%).

Would that work if my master volume is already at 29%?I'll look into ASIO4ALL.Thanks.

Under the volume control panel, lower the Wave volume until the crackling goes away. This solved my problem with engine crackling especially at higher powers.

Could you point me to where the Wave volume is in Vista?I'm only seeing:Play ControlS/PDIF-InMIDI SynthLine-InAuxiliaryIt's odd to me that the crackling vanishes in VC and this is only 2D panel problem. Hopefully adjusting a volume slider will fix it rather than a driver.

Set a limit on the frame rate to 35 and it will go away............... probably, its the only way I could stop it in FS9, it only happens when the frame rate starts to average above 45 FPS or so.

Cheers, Andy.

Well after a long-haul flight, this seems to have fixed it!Thank you so much, everyone. I'll post back here if I run into it on any of my subsequent flights.
