September 11, 200916 yr Author Hello folks,I think I went one step further in my search for a solution.First a little background: when I first installed FSX on this computer I copied a backup of the "naked" FSX with Acceleration on an external backup drive, together with both the FSX folders containing, amongst other things, the Fsx.cfg file and the scenery.cfg file.I just renamed my FSX folder together with the ones containing the Fsx.cfg and Scenery.cfg to something like .BAK and subsequently replace them with my origninal "naked FSX with acceleration". I then installed the JS41, fired up FSX default flight, loaded the Tutorial flight, put bateries and GPU on as well as the avionics, went to the FMS window with the "A" key, clicked the "ON" key of the FMS and bingo! the FMS screen came up as it should. So, there is something in my FSX that the JS41 does not like or is missing. Now what? Having had problems a few months ago in FS9 with the Dreamflleet A36 RXP 430 not working because a conflict with a Simplate dll, I deleted all the files in my modules directory, but with no improvement, the FMS is still not working. So I'll continue searching. Any idea to help my search will be welcome.Jean-JacquesWell, well...remember my test described above? Last night after having tried, to no avail, to get the FMS to work in my original FSX, I started again the "clean" FSX+Acc+JS41 and guess what? The FMS remained blank! But this morning, after having rebooted the FMS worked fine from within the "clean" FSX install. This afternoon I'll do some more tests and report here.Jean-Jacques Jean-Jacques Struyf between EBBR and EBCI
September 11, 200916 yr Unless I am missing something, if you just renamed the FSX folder, the registry entries will still be there and the only way to remove those entries is by removing the program and even running a registry cleaner.Would you happen to have some extra space on your HD that you can create a partition in and install a copy of Windows/FSX?
