No no don't Thank me, thank the guys on the link and PMDG support team.PMDG emailed me and gave me this link to see if this is the problem witch it was.So its thanks to them guys!!not me I'm just a pawn in the world haha :)Edit..Thanks Andy Crosby for bringing this up and Ryan Maziarz for the FIX.

Greetings again Blake! You're RIGHT! it IS the "Golden Ticket" it solved the problem once and for all! I've done several flights now, and the FMS works perfect every time! Thanks SO much for bringing my attention to the fix, I certainally owe you one! Again, thanks so much, it was really beginning to look to me like we were just going to have to wait for PMDG to release SP1. I thought I should share my experience with this. I had two problems with the FMS. First it worked perfect, but then one day it stopped. I resolved the problem by copying the fonts to the windows folder. This morning I used the configuration manager to lower the framerates of the pilot's screens and again: the fms didn't work. Putting back the framerate to 100 'solves' the problem for me.Edit: unfortunately the fms is broken again :( Will post my findings as soon as I have some...Edit2: problem solved. It was Birmingham Xtrme that caused the FMS not to work. As a non-programmer I can't understand how these two interact but at least my fms is working again.Edit3: FMS broken again :( Sorry to bother you all.

Damn, after several flights i had a CTD because ( i believe) i hit FPL and NAV at the FMS quickly. After a FSX restart the FMS not works. I tryed again but the FMS is dark....What can i do?

In my case I think it had something to do with a too heavy load for my pc. I discovered when I flew from heavy scenery or with too high display settings the FMS remained dark. Very strange but I can't get it more specified yet. So try to lower your settings and see if it helps...

I believe thats not the Problem. I have a Quad Core 9550@3,4Ghz 4GB Ram and GTX 285...Thats enough for the FSX.Other Addon running fine.

Yesterday i do a flight and i can use the FMS. Today i have do a flight but i can`t use the FMS. If i push the button "ON", the FMS doesn`t work. What i have forget to enable? Avionics are on. Engine are running.IRS Align is finished, Power is on...Greets McFly from Germany. '(Detlef Krueger)

Man, they seem to maybe have a handle on this time. As they have stated in the thread further on, the fix is to copy the glassga from your FSX fonts folder and place it in your Microsoft fonts folder thats it and it surely worked instantly for me.

After some more testing (read: I want to have fun and fly the J41, but end up testing all kinds of configurations to get the FMS working :( ) it appears to me that I have no problem when loading a default flight, than the tutorial flight, than go to the right airport and load the right time. Only if I load the J41 by loading a flight with a dark and cold Cessna 172 and then replacing this aircraft with the J41, the dark FMS appears (sometimes).

Yes your right, I too had high hopes and the same has happened to me also. I'm about ready to say so long to the $45.00 bucks and start flyin other addons. I'm just tired of working on it.

FWIW I utilize exactly that as my start up procedure EVERY TIME. I really would suggest that procedure for all PMDG (and other complex) simulations- cold and dark default Cessna (my default flight at EGLL) and then load the required aeroplane and your customized panel state. Works like a charm......
