Are you using FSX SP2? It is required.If you have SP2, try uninstalling and installing it. Some, not all, have reported this fixed their problem. Hope this helps.

I tried the advice on this forum as I was having similar FMS dark problems. Reinstalled SP1 and SP2 and have had a functioning FMS every flight since (4) :( .... not necessary to reinstall all of the add ons.Jim Parish

The uninstall and reinstall of SP2 solved my non-functional FMC problem too. It took under 5 minutes to uninstall and reinstall. I didn't have to uninstall any of my add-ons (not even the J41), I just simply did SP2 and all is well for the past 3 flights. Seems like an easy fix, but I am not sure why this happened to begin with.Chad

I have this issue also of the FMS not turning on when the "On" button is clearly being depressed. I can solve it by re-starting FSX. I expect to have to start the FMS when starting the a/c up from "cold and dark", but when saving a situation with the avionics on, and then later loading that situation, all the avionics are on except the FMS. Having the FMS load as "on" when it otherwise would be might mitigate a lot of these issues, and may point to some of the root cause behind this issue?Thanks, Bruce.

I too have the blank (or yellow rectangle shape) issue myself, and from what I've been able to gather from reading the forum posts, that an un\reinstall of SP2 seems to be a pretty much sure fire solution to the problem. I however, am running Acceleration, I seem to remember reading a thread that suggested doing a repair install of Acceleration (along with rebuilding the FSX.CFG) is again, a sure fire solution for the problem. In MY case, not so much. I followed the instructions to the letter, and am STILL having the display problem. I know PMDG is fully aware of the problem and will address and correct the problem with SP1. I understand that they are trying to nail down and correct one or two more elusive problems before they will release SP1. Is there anyone else with the non displaying FMS screen problem that has come across a solution they'd be willing to share with me? I'd be very appreciative of any help\advice\suggestions that anyone could give me. MANY Thanks in advance!

Hello SimFan i have the exact same thing going on. Been at it trying to fix but nothing i do fixes it i have uninstalled J-41 redownload it repaired Acceleration altered the fsx con fig folder.The yellow box moves around when i click Enter 3 times and tune...etc just no letters/words showing up.Hope some one out there can help us Mate :)Cheers Blake

Ok, i aware "i`m not allone with my problem". However, i have uninstall SP2 and install SP2 again. But the problem is the same. FMS is dark. What can i do again to try to fix this problem?EDIT: Now it works (at the moment). What i have do? I uninstall SP1 and Sp2. Install Sp1 and install SP2 3times! Now it works. I hope the problem is fixed.

3 flights later the FMS Panel is dark and out of order.... damn....

Greetings Blake! Yeah, unfortunately it looks like we're just going to have to be patient until PMDG is able to release SP1 before we recieve a sure fire fix for the problem. I'm ever vigilant though, and if I come across anything that seems to fix the problem I'll be quick to share with you and the rest of the PMDG J41 community that's being effected buy this issue! Overall I think PMDG has a REAL winner on their hands with the J41, overall it's argueably one of the best if not THE best release they've done, proving the critics wrong that said no way could PMDG be sucessful with a commuter propjet release. I have high hopes that they are VERY sucessful with the J41, so much so that they may entertain the idea of doing a EMB 120 Brasillia, (MY personal favorite commuter propjet ever) an overlooked and thusfar ignored aircraft by the payware designers. True, there IS the ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC freeware 120 model by Eric Cantu, but so far no complex, "study level" payware model. Take care and hopefully soon we'll see a release of the SP1 for the J41!!!

I here ya on that they have made a beautiful plane here one of the (if not the best) best prop liners in FSX to date :( mm mm EMB 110 Bandeirante and one that has really missed out the F-27 friendship.all EMB are good A/Canyway Good to see we not alone in the fmc :(

Lol, i have try the procedzure again. Uninstall SP2 and Sp1, then install Sp1 and Sp2 again and FMS works fine for one flight. At the next flight the FMS is dark. Its a very great procedure to use the FMS foer one flight... :( :( :(

That is exactly my situation. I have had no luck trying to fix. I tried using it without the SP2, the FMS works but no pop-up window. I've installed/reinstalled SP2 several times. No improvement. I hope this can get fixed soon.Todd
