September 19, 200916 yr How do you enter a flightplan, manually, in the MD11 CDU? The tutorial doesn't do much for me as it wants you to load the tutorial flight...not much help. On page 33 it describes (supposedly) how to enter your flightplan manually...but then asks for a SID...I'm not flying a SID. I want to do this...enter my first waypoint, enter the airway, enter my next waypoint, enter the airway, etc. like I do in a Boeing (I know...it's NOT a BOEING :( ) Whatever. I followed the instructions and managed to enter a page of airways/waypoints (I think)...but then I was at the bottom of the page with no ability to add the next airway? Please tell me the PMDG MD11 CDU can handle more than 1 page of flightplan??? Victor Buck
September 19, 200916 yr To add an airway, press the left LSK beside the waypoint, and then select the AIRWAY prompt on the left.Paul

Thanks Paul.Good question, I just 'insert' at this stage, then start adding the next part of the route onto the last entry. But as to how to get to page 2, etc (Boeing style) I'm not sure. Perhaps it's time for me to look at the manual a bit more carefully ;-) Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
September 20, 200916 yr I would recommend two things, use the arrows on the CDU, and read the manual. Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

September 20, 200916 yr Author I've RTFM many times...can't find anywhere that explains how to open a second F-PLAN page when manually entering waypoints/airways. I'm pretty sure the arrow or page keys only work if you allow the stored F-PLAN to load and that F-PLAN has more than 1 page of data...not when entering the data yourself? I'll verify but I've tried various things since the FS9 MD-11 was released without any luck. Victor Buck

Use these to scroll up and down to the last entered waypoint. To enter any single waypoint, you can enter the name on the scratchpad and insert on the lsk that states "flightplan discontinuity" If you are going to enter an airway, you must use the LAT REV page. To access that page, click on the lsk next to the last entered waypoint. (this cant be done by clicking next to an airport). Then you can enter the airway and the waypoint accordingly.I hope this is of help, nothing like frustration to mess up your flightplan..... :( Tim EvansSomewhere by the sea.
September 21, 200916 yr Author Tim, I can add waypoints and/or airways now. What I can't figure out is how to continue adding them when I reach the bottom of the page? Victor Buck
September 21, 200916 yr Commercial Member Tim, I can add waypoints and/or airways now. What I can't figure out is how to continue adding them when I reach the bottom of the page?As far as I'm aware you cant, once you reach the page limit you click insert and then perform another LAT Revision from the last waypoint on the flightplan page.RegardsRob Rob Prest
