September 20, 200916 yr I'm so spoiled flying heavies where the FMC provides you the ILS frequency. So what do most folks do for the JS41? Do you print out charts for each airport you fly into? There's the FSX map option, but you have to pause the sim to use that. Any other ideas?Curt Curt Branch
September 20, 200916 yr Curt,I fly in windowed mode so it's a bit easier for me, but what I do is just open up the airport page using wherever I find the charts (As I fly in the US I normally use airnav.com). Then whenever I get closer and decide on a runway, I open up the chart I need.Might not be the easiest for some people, but it works great for me and I don't use any paper. As I tend to fly into a lot of the same airports, I've started to memorize the frequencies and courses for the ILS's I use most, and I don't even need to do the above much.
September 20, 200916 yr I use FS COmmander. Couldn't do without it. For planning, frequencies, ideas where to fly to. It's fantastic. http://www.fscommander.com/
September 20, 200916 yr Yep, I print the airport and approach maps then before take off verify with MSFS map as some differences do occur with frequencies.I generally just google the ICAO code, ie "KJFK charts" and find most of the larger destinations.Michael Haines

I say that tongue in cheek because at $20.00 an area it can add up quick. However I have purchased ten or so for my most favorite areas. For the airports I do not have charts or terminal procedures for I usually find somewhere on the net to download from. Vatsim has a pretty good resource for charts and many FIR Regards,Gary Andersen HAF932 Advanced, ASUS Z690-P D4, i5-12600k @4.9,NH-C14S, 2x8GB DDR4 3600, RM850x PSU,Sata DVD, Samsung 860 EVO 1TB storage, W10-Pro on Intel 750 AIC 800GB PCI-Express,MSI RTX3070 LHR 8GB, AW2720HF, VS238, Card Reader, SMT750 UPS.
September 20, 200916 yr Shift + 1 and open up the Default GPS.Click the NRST button, choose any airport on the list. Change the ICAO to the applicable ICAO. Navigate to the frequencies page. There's your ILS frequency without leaving the sim.Sam Allen Sam Allen

September 20, 200916 yr Most payware addons do not have the default GPS built-in; so use one of the methods described above.Ofcourse, but considering this topic doesn't apply to 'most payware addons' and specifically the J41, I thought it worth mentioning as a possible alternative to the other methods mentioned. September 20, 200916 yr There's your ILS frequency without leaving the sim.I can't count the times ATC has vectored me to a non-existant runway, I wouldn't put much faith in those frequencies being right. At least places like Navigraph keep their charts current. Bruce Hamilton
