October 1, 200916 yr Hey,I believe that any application that is started through the exe.xml file (ie, the option to start when FS starts) will run under fsx.exe and therefore can't be seen in the processes list. This is quite annoying as any unresponsive application can't be terminated through the task manager. The service runs separately to the Texture Max Load Editor and may also be hidden in the task manager at times. This is nothing to worry about because the TMLE will check to see if the service is currently running when it starts so you can always stop it.Hope that answered your questions,Steve
October 1, 200916 yr Fine. You run your computer whatever way you want to. I'll run mine the way it should be run. Good luck on your programing course. I guess you haven't had the class yet on writing code and implementing applications that don't use unnecessary system resources...and the reasons not to. Whatever....Oh...just curious. When you use that TileProxy, do you disable your firewall and turn off your anti-virus protection? Like the documentation says? Uh huh.....RickRick, did you have a bad day? Gman is just trying to be helpful. October 1, 200916 yr Rick, did you have a bad day? Gman is just trying to be helpful.Jean-Paul,Yeah, probably. I, like everyone else, have them once in a while. My apologies to gman. But I just don't appreciate being "told" that "the fix" is to "have TMLE start when Windows starts", when TMLE obviously has an option to "Run application when FS starts", which it is evidently designed to do. If that isn't working, then let's find out why. I don't need someone to tell me to just automatically start TMLE every time I start Windows. I've been doing IT for 35 years, and that is not the way to handle an application that you are not intending to use "every time you start Windows". Steve even knows that, based on his reply in his post above that he doesn't start it that way, because he, like me, use our computers for other things besides FSX. I don't need TMLE running when I do that, and adding it to any "autostart when Windows starts" is not the answer.Rick Rick Ryan
October 1, 200916 yr Jean-Paul,Yeah, probably. I, like everyone else, have them once in a while.No worries, so do I. :( Cheers KInd regards Jean-Paul I7 8700K / Fractal Design Celsius S24 watercooling / ASRock Z370 Extreme4 motherboard / Corsair 32GB 3200mhz DDR4 / INNO3D iChiLL GeForce GTX 1080 Ti X3 / Samsung SSD 960 EVO M.2 PCIe NVMe 500GB / Seasonic-SSR-850FX power supply / Fractal Design Define R5 Black case / AOC Q3279VWF 32″ 2560x1440 monitor / Benq GL2450 24″ 1920x1080 monitor / Track-IR 4
October 1, 200916 yr Steve,Does TMLE "run in the background" when I do the above? In other words, should I be seeing it listed in the "Processes" tab of Task Manager when I have it "Run application when FS starts"?forget task manager and get process explorer instead. You will see that if you start it with FSX that it's added to exe.xml and the app runs under fsx.exe process (for that matter, you can also see all the dlls loaded via dll.xml). If you select the service to run, then tml-service is started at I guess the system level and runs as a separate process. When you exit the app the service keeps running, like a watch-dog.scott s..
