September 26, 200916 yr I keep having a problem on approach in the 737. When I am on or nearly intercepted the LOC and GS I get a sudden uncommanded increase in throttle while on A/T. This is without me doing anything. It just goes to full or very near full power and shoots up from around 180kts to well over 200kts and would probably keep going until overspeed. Disconnecting the A/T and setting power by hand stops the increase in power. and no I'm not hitting the TOGA swich by accident. lolAndy S
September 26, 200916 yr It is responding to the urge to return to 250 kts below 10,000.I always fly using MCP SPD mode for A/T and never use VNAV in the terminal area (in the 737). Dan Downs KCRP
September 26, 200916 yr Author I have it on MCP SPD so I can select the correct flap speeds. So no I don't think it's trying to go back to 250kts. Andy S
September 26, 200916 yr Oh, uncommanded throttle excursion while in autothrottle is pretty unusual. I assume that the airspeed didn't suddenly change, and that you have tried it with clear weather (no weather), so the next thing to isolate is your controller. Make sure the game controller throttle isn't overriding the sim. If still no help, then post a screen shot. Dan Downs KCRP
September 27, 200916 yr Author I will try and see if my joystick is causing it. I think it unlikely though as it only happens on approach and happens on every flight. One thing I noticed is that when loading the default Cessna before loading the 737 (which I always do) all the switches were off. ie engines/avionics etc. Could this be part of the problem? Also how do you reset the default flight ie so the engines are running etc?Andy S

Save Cessna flight with everything on and check the box that says "Make Default Flight".BTW, if you want cold and dark, turn everything off in the Cessna except the Avionics switch. That should be always in the on position, otherwise the Avionics for other aircraft may not work. Then save flight and check default box.Jim D.
