Saab 340b from PAD

Featured Replies

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before (did not find it if they did) but I just downloaded and installed saab340_bepronw9.zip from the Premier Aircraft Design site. Not only is this aircraft beautiful to look at but for me it is a joy to fly and it comes complete with a very nice VC also. Of course the best part is that is is free. You can check it out here:www.premaircraft.com Click on the "What's New" option. My congrats to the PAD team for another excellent offerring. :( :( :(

I was always looking for a decent Saab 340.I remember one in particular (payware) with decent systems modeling reviewed and posted in Avsims' reviews. I'm curious where to get this thing from, as systems accuracy comes first for me. Any idea?

Zach,You're probably thinking of FFS Saab 340. I did buy it a long time ago, shortly before FFS decided to withdraw from the market.Systemwise it is a good addon plus the exterior model is top notch. However there are quite a few disadvantages which put into into my virtual hangar rather. The visuals of the panel are not convncing to say the least. What's more gauges readouts are hardly recognizable having very small digits (I tried various screen resolutions). Even the VC looks very flat (no 3D gauges at all). There is no FMS (I'm an IFR/RNAV guy). The sounds are disappointing. Well...I don't think you can buy it anywhere. AFAIR it was only sold as a download product, no box, so no other retailers around.

Anyone else experience it bouncing and bucking a bit while taxiing? Mine seems to do it no matter what airport I'm at.gwillmot

Hello,

Anyone else experience it bouncing and bucking a bit while taxiing? Mine seems to do it no matter what airport I'm at.
I'm very picky about the contacts points .. and on my install I have no problems.Anyways it can be a problem on your .. who knows ...So you can try some experiments with the noze wheel contact point (usually the bouncing source)This line in contact points chapter:point.0= 1, 20.797, 0.000, -5.725, 1200, 0, 0.800, 60.000, 0.200, 2.500, 0.900, 3.000, 3.000, 0In bold is the "static compression"You can try a superior number (like 0,250 ... etc ) and see what happend.Don't forget when you change this number it's also possible the wheel position will change and maybe float or sunk in runway. For correct this you can play with the number in red !You can also check the "Damping ratio" (in blue)Remind:Don't forget to save your original contact points parameters before make any changes. After any changes you must reload the plane for seen the results.Regards.bye.gifGus
