October 22, 200916 yr Yesterday, after reading the "ad" on the Avsim forum I decided to order the AeroSims PropLiner set which has, among other aircraft, the DHC-6. Below is the E-mail I sent them that explains my problem with their package. Has anyone else had this problem ? PLEASE advise me if you did and what you did, if anything to fix the problem. Thanks jerrycwo4"Yesterday I ordered the PropLiner collection and have determined that the Auto Pilot for the DHC-6 does NOT work correctly. You can "click" on all of the Auto Pilots buttons ( AP, HEADING, NAV, ALT etc) and NOTHING happens. The default setting on the VS window is "6500 / 000" and I can find nothing to change these values. Of course there is a "work-around" of setting the AP functions with such as "Z, CTRL/A, CTRL/H, CTRL/Z AND CTRL/N". Is this the ONLY way that the AP will work? You can place the cursor on the VS speed position and a "+" or a "-" will appear, but NOTHING happens. The values will NOT change. I have NOT tried the other 2 aircraft in this package as the reason that I bought it was for the DHC-6. I did download and install the one "Update" that was listed on your support page, but that did NOT fix the problem with the DHC-6's Auto Pilot. PLEASE ADVISE how to fix this problem. October 22, 200916 yr just a wild guess but maybe the autopilot does not work on purpose.if so,check the aircraft.cfg for the heading autopilot available=0 and change it to a 1.that might help.also check the panel.cfg to see if there is an autopilot installed.cheersJP.
October 22, 200916 yr Is an ad the same as a review? If so, could you send me a PM explaining why you think the review I did was the same as an ad?Anyway, I don't remember encountering the issue you described here. The autopilot on both other planes certainly works flawlessly, and I remember the autopilot performing flawlessly on the DHC-6 too. If you havn't got an email yet, don't worry, you'll get one. It may take a few days, because they seem to be very busy with current projects, plus the fact they don't seem to be a very big team. If necessary, send them another email. What JP told you might work out though, but I can't remember needing to do such a procedure.EDIT: Wait a sec... what is exactly your problem? Does the A/P not work, or can't you find the buttons to change the values like heading, and altitude? If the latter is the case, for as far as I can remember, the autopilot buttons are basically spread out all over the cockpit, like in old Boeing aircraft, like the 727. To change heading, you have to find a button near the HSI, and set the heading from there. Same for most other A/P functions. The AP button you see, si to turn the A/P on, it is not what the APP button does in many jetliners, for that we have the APR button. So, to recap: turn on the A/P by pressing the AP button. Next, go to the relevant gauge on the instrument panel, and find the button that will move a "bug" (like the heading A/P heading bug being the little orange thingy at the outer circle of the HSI), to set the relevant AP function to the correct settings. Now, turn on the relevant A/P function. So, for heading, you'd press HDG.I hope this will solve your problem, as there is really nothing wrong with A/P... It should work flawlessly...
