October 22, 200916 yr I am not sure if these horrible little GA fuel stations are protoypical in US. They certainly aren't in UK/Europe and almost certainly not in Russia. I'd like to get rid of them. All of them! Is there a shortcut way of doing this or will I have to spend my remaining years excluding them one by one? Thanks.John John
October 23, 200916 yr Oh, sure, John, there are probably different methods to remove those horrid little things. Perhaps the easiest is just to make them invisible - take the texture, probably in the Global directory, and add a transparency over that part, and voil Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!

October 24, 200916 yr I'd never have thought of the texture transparency idea. I could see my life disappearing. Phew! Thanks.I would like to get rid of them too - not only because I don't like the look of them (to me they seem grossly over-scale anyway) but if I unintentionally start a flight near them my careful calculations on fuel loading are wasted and I find myself lumbering down the runway with full tanks and struggling to get airborne. Sadly, making them transparent wouldn't solve that for me but maybe physical removal wouldn't either as I suspect the "refuelling" code may not directly relate to the model.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org

In FS2002 memory tells me these fuel stations had yellow boxes in front to identify the automatic refuelling area. Some aerodromes just had the yellow boxes without any physical station, suggesting that refuelling is indeed separate from the building object. This yellow box was omitted in FS9 with the result that that avoiding the zone is now hit or miss. It would be interesting to delete the stations generically using .xml code and see if this also removes the auto re-fuelling function. I am no expert on .xml code but I will give it a try next week and post the result. I suspect that John is correct though. John Hubbard John
October 24, 200916 yr Unfortunately, the fuel trigger is a different piece of code altogether from the object. The only way to remove it is to modify the APX file (that is, create a new one, either with AFCAD or Jon's Airport Design Editor.) Since nobody flies to all 28000 airports of the FS world, it should be less of a hassle to remove them for the half-dozen or so airports that most people use regularly.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
October 24, 200916 yr Using ADE9X and looking at Luis picture above you simply highlight the trigger and hit the delete key. Do the same with the small yellow rectangle which is the scenery object fuel station.
October 25, 200916 yr Author Using ADE9X and looking at Luis picture above you simply highlight the trigger and hit the delete key. Do the same with the small yellow rectangle which is the scenery object fuel station. Many thanks, Luis and Jim Vile. I never thought to use ADE9 for this purpose. I must have flown into thousands of FS9 airports over the years, most of them sporting that nasty little object. I had hoped to find a way of doing a once and for all demolition job on the whole lot of them. If I'm reading you correctly, the ADE method won't do this, but it will make it easier and faster to eliminate them individually. John H John
