W7/Nvidia/No AA

Featured Replies

Hello,My copy of Windows 7 arrived today and i'm very happy with the OS itself. (64bit installed)I have an Nvidia GTX275, which on XP I controlled through nHancer for FS. I've done the same on Windows 7 but it doesn't seem to be taking effect in FS (jaggies etc)Anyone any experience with FS9, W7 and Nvidia? Thanks.

Yep. Working fine - what I did: check override setting in the menu, set same settings for General and Profile, and you should be good to go. Disable the enhance setting (that is what the override checkmark is for).

Hi,I have nHancer set up as per the instructions here - http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?autocom...&article=32How are you supposed to have the NVIDIA control panel set for nHancer to work?
Don't touch the NVIDIA CP. Use nHancer which works on its own.Pierre

No I haven't but I was just worried something in the NVIDIA panel was overriding nHancer. What driver are you guys on?

There is one vital thing forgotten in this tutorial: as I said, you have to set SAME settings for both GENERAL and PROFILE. In one of the two, Enhance in-game AA setting will be enabled, you have to check the Override tab in the menu to be able to change it! After that it should work!

Still nothing Word Not Allowed but I can't see this override button that you mention. Here is my nHancer - Global01.jpg02.jpg03.jpgProfile04.jpg05.jpg06.jpgDo you have to run nHancer/FS in any other mode like as an administrator for it to work??

I think you need to re-compare those settings on both Profile and Global. You have "Enhance IN - GAME settings and Super-Transparency checked. So your telling it use the FSX (or FS9) AA not nHancer's? Shouldn't just Gamma Correction be checked in that section? I think it's all or nothing, you can't just go with some of the recommended settings. All settings on all tabs must be the same and Global and Profile must be the same as well.

Those are the exact settings I used on XP and it worked fine. The problem is since i've gone to W7.

Hello,I'm experiencing the same problem with my GTX 260 and Windows 7 64-bits. :( AA worked fine with Windows XP, same settings with nHancer. Why ?EDIT : Finally AA is working ! You simply have to set the same values in nHancer both "Global" and "Profile". Moreover, it is necessary to create a new profile for FSX, namely "MS Flight Simulator X" instead of using the SLI profile that doesn't work. :(

This is WRONG:You need to deselect that. To deselect, you have to check the override nvidia settings in menu. I feel like I am repeating myself. No matter what worked before, you need:1) Same settings in General and Profile2) Deselected Enhance Ingame...For the blind:There is no need to make a new profile or anything similar. I did it last time I installed W7 and everything was working 100%. Repeated this 3 times already... (yes, reinstalling W7 for the 4th time, I like experimenting a lot...).

Ok, again, this still doesn't work. Enhance in-game AA setting is OFF and the override option is ticked.

And you made sure you have both same settings for profile and global in nhancer?? AA/AF is not set in FS9 I hope...

  • Author

Yup same settings in global and profile and AA off in FS.

Hi,This is working when DirectX 10 is disabled in the FSX display parameters. If I enable DirectX 10, AA does not work ! :(
