October 25, 200916 yr I do not have Win 7 yet but wondered if there are "updated" driver issues - especially for things such as scanners and printers - as we have seen in the past with the drivers not being available when XP and Vista were first released.Anyone had such issues - especially with HP products?

October 26, 200916 yr Author There are a number of sites offering the ability to check for both software & hardware compatibility with Windows 7. Microsoft, for example, provides the following one: Windows Compatibility Center Thanks - that is a great link - exactly what I was looking for !!
October 27, 200916 yr I got two Canon products (Canon Pixma IP4200 Printer, Canon CanoScan CS4200 Scanner), both have updated drivers and working fine.Hi Word Not Allowed, maybe you can help me then. I have the PIXMA 4000R. And I have to add that I upgraded from Vista to Win7. no clean install. Hence the printer was added because it was actually already there but I cannot access the printer, it remains cold and dark when I try to print. Now I found that Canon provides some Win7 driver package but just installing that package did not help. Will probably de- and the reinstall the printer completely. Nonetheless, did you use the updated driver from Canon for Win7? If yes, did you just run the setup.exe from that driver or did you also run the install from the CD that once came with the printer?Phil Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
October 27, 200916 yr You'll find W7 downloads drivers as required - however Vista ones work in W7 anyway.Found my Canon printer/multifunction ones and installed no hassle at all.only hassle I had was with an Abit wireless card in W7-64bit as Abit driver said 'no card found' - Got over that one as I found the card has an Atheros chipset and loads of drivers for that one the W7 dvd.All in all quite painless.John E
November 3, 200916 yr My aging HP LJ1012 laser printer did not have Win7 drivers, but as was mentioned the Vista 64 bit drivers seemed to work just fine. You definitely want to check every piece of hardware (even new things) for Win7 drivers. My usb wireless adapter I just bought last year doesn't seem to have updated drivers (yet). I will have to try and get that working. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
