November 16, 200916 yr I too am waiting to see what becomes of this Eyefinity technology. I'd like to replace my 4:3 19" triple outside view monitors with widescreen 22" monitors. I could do it now, with my TH2go digital, but I'm afraid I'd push my poor C2D over the edge. I'm running TH2go on one port of a 8800GTX, and a DH2go on the other at 2880x900. Throwing 5040x1050 into the mix might be too much. And, I'm also waiting for a better selection of DisplayPort monitors to show up. I can't see buying those expensive adapters...I've seen what appeared to be an acceptable 22" widescreen in the $300+ range. I think Samsung is supposed to come out with one with very thin bezels too. From the brochure, it appears that Eyefinity can be run in span mode or individual monitor mode, even mixed (like the monitor layout in the bottom left by OP). They do have to get the bezel management sorted out. I wonder how the performance compares to TH2go. You'd think with it all done on a go-fast card, it would be better. I suppose the only way to compare the 3-port Eyefinity card would be to run three monitors, and then plug TH2go unit at the same resolution and see.And FWIW, I used to run WideView with 4 pc's. I compared the FOV in WideView vs. TH2go, and while WideView gave me a more accurate outside view, and wider FOV, the extra hassle was not worth it to me. I never got silky smooth outside visuals in that configuration despite the client computers having nothing more to do than show their slice of the scenery. I would attribute this to having the clients in slew and running over a network. The FPS were not the issue, it was more of a micro stutter issue. Here are some screenshots of TH2go taken at SeaTac with a view out the flight deck, and one overhead. At 100% zoom, I get roughly 105 degrees FOV. At 80% zoom, it's about 115 degrees. TH2go does not just stretch a 45 degree view over three screens. A person most certainly will get a wider FOV by increasing their monitor aspect ratio (like with TH2go).However a person gets there multi monitor outside view setup, it's well worth it. The side screens add a much greater sensation of speed as the scenery moves more quickly across the monitors.Nothing like a cell phone camera for high quality imagery. :( Noel WC2D [email protected] / 8800GTX + 9600GT / 4GB / Vista64 / FSX SP2 Noel Wiebracht -------------------- [email protected]||Gigabyte P67A-UD7||8 Gb Mushkin Redline DDR3 1600||Gigabyte GTX580 x 2||Noctua NH-D14||Crucial SATAIII 256Gb x 2||CoolerMaster Silent Pro Gold 1200W||Coolermaster RC-942 HAF X||Dell U3011 30"|Multiple Monitors w/TH2goD-DH2goD-Touchscreens||Win7 64 Pro||FSX Gold
November 16, 200916 yr Noel- great pics. Sure adds emphasis to the argument that once you have flown with multiple views, you are hooked. Not only life-like but your flying skills also improve with a wide horizon. Alex Reid
November 23, 200916 yr My enthousiasm is a bit tempered by the fact that for more than 3 monitors you will need the Eyefinity version of the card which has 6 display prts. However each port display - DVI adapter costs around $100, so a total of $600 has to be added to the card....For me 4 outside view monitors are enough, but I have to throw in $200 for it.I thought eyefinity gave you one wide monitor in FSX like the TripleHead2Go.If it is one wide desktop and each view has to be undocked and dragged to the appropriate monitor you will loose many framerates.Than it would be like 1 accelerated view and 3 undocked ones . You will end up with framerates below 5.Are you referring to a cable like this one? http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat_...2&sku=26950

November 24, 200916 yr No, this what you needhttp://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/product...mp;sku=330-5521 I use this one with my xga projectors without any problems. Combined with a standard vga to dvi adapter it could be another option, but I would go with the adapter above for sure.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16815158150
