November 16, 200916 yr Commercial Member Version 4.40 of MakeRunways isd now available via this link:http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/MakeRunways_440.zipI'll try to get it up on the main Schiratti/Dowson page in due course. The main changes are:1. It is, at last, re-structured to have FS9 and FSX scenery structures as its priority -- previously, being a long-standing program operating on BGLs right since FSW95 and FS98 days, it was optimised for those formats, with the FS9 and FSX format files "bolted on" later. The result of this re-structuring is that it is now much much faster scanning FS9 and FSX scenery layers.2. Taking advantage of the increased performance, the FS9/FSX/ESP scenery layers are now scanned twice. The first scan actions all of the deletions, whilst the second deals with the additions. This fixes the problems some scenery add-ons have caused in the past, with "exclude" files following the true airport files in the same folder.Good flying!Pete Dowson Win10: 22H2 19045.2728 CPU: 9900KS at 5.5GHz Memory: 32Gb at 3800 MHz. November 17, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member Version 4.40 of MakeRunways contained a bug -- the Comms Frequency file (f5.csv) was all wrong. The ICAO codes were shuffled somewhat!Version 4.41, correcting this, is now available via this link:http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/MakeRunways_441.zipI'll try to get it up on the main Schiratti/Dowson page in due course.Pete Dowson Win10: 22H2 19045.2728 CPU: 9900KS at 5.5GHz Memory: 32Gb at 3800 MHz. November 17, 200916 yr Do we just drop into the FSX root? Is that safe with all the add-ons we typically run?Thanx.
November 17, 200916 yr Author Commercial Member Do we just drop into the FSX root? Is that safe with all the add-ons we typically run?Yes. It does not depend upon, or interfere with, or react with, anything else at all. It is completely free-standing. When run it simply scans all of your scenery and produces data files, also in the FS root folder, which are used not only by Radar Contact but many other programs.RegardsPete Win10: 22H2 19045.2728 CPU: 9900KS at 5.5GHz Memory: 32Gb at 3800 MHz. November 21, 200916 yr Pete,This thread begs the question, does make_runways work off the scenery.cfg file for where to scan and if so, which one? The old cfg file in the root of FSX or the newer cfg file under 'All_Users'? I routinely copy the 'All_users" version to the root of FSX anyway but I thought the question was still valid. Thanks....
