December 3, 200916 yr Last night I was in the middle of a KIAD to KLGA flight and I followed the manual in saving. The RCD control panel even said SAVING on it, but when I go to load my game and then try to load my RCD file, there is no RCD file. I used the ctrl-shift semicolon way like the manual said.Any ideas where my RCD file is so I don't have to start my flight over?
December 3, 200916 yr In your Documents folder there should be a folder called Flight Simulator Files and it should reside in there along with your saved flights from FS including .wx, .pln, and other such types. This is based on my Win XP and FS9 setup.FS must be running. In my case Load .RCD opened up My Documents and then I had to select Flight Simulator Files and then the .rcds were listed.
December 3, 200916 yr I checked there and there isn't any .RCD files. I did a search on this and found a number of threads regarding this problem and one person said that once they saved the RC, they had to let the flight sim run for a bit before it actually saved the file.Going to try that now and see if it works.
December 3, 200916 yr Yea it worked. I wasn't letting the file save long enough I guess.Sorry to bother, and thanks for the help.
December 8, 200916 yr Can please somebody inform me what is the reaction of RC4 when you press ctrl+shift+; Do I have to to do that and then save my flight seperatly? Because when I press ctrl+shift+; nothing happens. No rcd file is saved although settings are pointing to my "flight simulator files" folder. Also in my installation it seems that there is not "look for updates" button.Thank you in advance.

December 8, 200916 yr Thanx for the replyAll ok finally. I used the ; key and everything was saved properly. It seems that it RC needs some time with the FS running before it saves the files. Thanx for your help!!

January 10, 201016 yr yes, fs has to be running, and it may take some time to write out everything i need, to pick up your flight where you saved it.Just got RC installed, been reading the manuals/quick start/this forum and am ready to start a flight. If I save from FS with the ; or the File menu is that the same as the RC CTL-SHF-; in that the RC information will also be saved using the FS Save technique? Thanks.

However, I saved with CTL-SHF-; with FS running and having the focus and I waited till it said the save was done.. The WX,FLT, and FSSAVE files created by RC4 (i.e. 10-5613-MT1-NOLA-2-7$7.* ) are in my documents\Flight Simulator X folder but there are no *.rcd files anywhere. I searched my entire system.I'm running Win7 Pro 64 bit and the files weren't anywhere on the drives.

January 14, 201016 yr make a log, instructions pinned to the top of the forum. save a flight, and then end rc. send me the log file and i'll tell you where the .rcd file was savedyou did click the .flt/.wx button, and entered the correct path, right?Well - the path wasn't set. I missed it on the setup and in one of the other posts they said it defaulted to the Flight Simulator X directory in my documents but I guess not as I just set it and it saves fine.If I have saved flights (using ctl-shf-;_ with no rcd there's no way to return to where I was I suppose other than figure out who I should be talking to and contact them I guess.Thanks.

January 14, 201016 yr
have you done a windows search for *.rcd?

they may be in the root directory of the drive rc is installed on. maybe c:\?

if there wasn't an error when you did the save, i imagine they are somewhere on the computer.

I searched all of the drives for *.rcd and found zero except the sample ones in the RC folders. It said it saved it - I saw no errors on the window. So RC4 will not default to the Flight Simulator X diretory in your documents folder then and the value has to be set - at least on Win7?No big problem. I know what to do now and it works. If I don't have the rcd file I can't pick the flight up - correct? Thanks. I've been enjoying this product - a FS Addon worth buying for sure. It's like old times!
