December 4, 200916 yr Unintended consequences? How about this picture of Osama bin Laden :( We don't need this type of security. No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea. Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower! December 4, 200916 yr I don't like the idea at all! First I thought that was what the 'Sky Marshals' were for. Raises the question, are they going to be wearing them too? Actually there are many serious reasons to object. Then there are some other reasons: (1) Please may I have another bag of peanuts? These are stale,.........ZAP!!!! : (2) Could I have a,.......ZAP!!!! : (3) We've been sitting here on the apron for 6 hours I'd like to get of this plane,.......ZAP!!!! All it would take is a crew member having a bad hair day and all hell could break loose. But on the other hand, now, if the passengers have to wear them so should the crew, and let everybody have the little button to push! I can see it now, a flight landing, open the doors and find everyone except the 4 year old in the back unconscious! :( Seriously,....., it is a really dumb idea, pure and simple. If the governments, airlines, and passenger screening and profiling were done effectively this wouldn't be necessary. Don't you think that the first thing a terrorist would do is rip the thing off and throw it under their seat? As for the so called unruly passenger, who determines what unruly is? Sure if someone goes completely 'nuts' it would come in handy but a good firm whack on the head would work also. In reality the only purpose for them is to use them as a tracking tools and I don't think that a good enough excuse. It is all marketing by a 'security' company that has something to gain by expecting us to forfeit our privacy and comfort, along with a government official that likes the idea for a reason I can't even imagine.Next dumb idea: Lets just anesthetize all the passengers before take off, wake and them when we land. Flight crew says, "We are still at the gate, please everyone, put on you masks and breath deep,..that's it breath deep, gooooood! Nitey nite!"Please pardon me if I am not taking this seriously enough, it is that IMHO it is just hard to believe it's being considered at all. If they want to know where I'm going all the need to do is look at my ticket or ask me. If Osama Bin Laden decides to fly Delta, they should be on top of that too, instead of thinking about stunning passengers who may or may not be out of line.By the way they did try the anesthetize thing recently, but things didn't go to well, I think it was a NWA flight to Minneapolis and it took them a while to figure out how to cover that up.Best regards,Mel
December 4, 200916 yr I can see it now, you get on a flight attendants nerves and they go "FRY!" and zap you...This can only end badly... December 5, 200916 yr Now coming to the skies near you, Air Gitmo.Could make for some interesting flights. I could not ever see this happening, but you never know. Hopefully the Airline Execs never find out about this or everyone will have one, including the crew. Except UA they have Tilton, same idea but different attachment point. Brandon
