Haha, actually I already did the call sign, it's GNS14U (Guinness one for you). I was thinking about just GNS4U but too many letters,,, needed some balance :(

Funny, I never seen them until yesterday (on youtube), their a riot :( . Figured I'd give ya's an update and some pix. I've changed the theme about 20 times now and my "brain cell" is fried. I found what I think the center piece is, and what it should be for a Guiness livery, but because of the colors, it limits me from working with something other than,, ummmm white? So here's what to expect,,, The main "Center piece" is the can pouring Guinness into a glass on both sides of the fuselage. I didn't want it to just pour it since anyone who knows guinness, knows it is often poured over a "guinness spoon" (mostly for black and tan types though, but the pub I frequent, use it pretty,,, frequently). Anywho, so I added a "Guinness Spoon", complete with chain. That took a while since if you've ever done a livery and have fought against the vortex riptide effect when getting close to the top, it taint easy to make it look right. I wanted to Get the right mixture of color while it's being poured too, it makes it look a tad more real, and helps the "illusion". I put a "couple" old Guinness "posters" up there in the doors. It looks cool on working doors like in the passenger version. I also went with the two guys idea (It's Brilliant!!!). There's one on each side ready to serve both the "pilot" & "copilot". I even put a "bottle opener" outside the pilots window, even though you can't really see it. I spent a lot of time on the extra's like "cargo", "decor", and the "winglets". The cargo of course can't be perfect since it uses the texure on different sides of a set "block", but it helps with the atmosphere I think (just think of it as, the labelers were drunk). I had a couple cool looking color schemes that just looked awful at dusk and dawn, so while trying to think of the 1,002nd paint scheme I tossed in some humor. On a cargo door it says "Private Pilot Stock - Keep Out!" and under it, near the handles you'll find blood hand prints and a streak running down the side as the violator collapsed. So to make a long story longer, the livery just kept getting too busy and cluttered so I had to eliminate some things that took me hours to create. However, the finale is pretty sweet, since it's beer I thought why not throw some "neon" into it? It makes the whole livery in my opinion. I through in a twist too. They are activated (well, only seen), when you have your lights on. During the day, just a clover and a small Irish flag up in the corner, then at night it turns into a flying pub! I tossed in a couple hidden things also, and one will have to be installed (renamed) by the user, (needs a disclaimer) haha. I think it's finished now, just some tweaking. I'll see what I can do about getting it to you for FS9 format. You might want to shoot me your email in a PM so you can beta test it, since I don't have FS9. There are a TON of alpha channels and I'm not sure how much the conversion will effect them. I also don't know if you version uses the PMDG_MD11_Fuse_Left_LM.dds and right to make the night effect work correctly. This project can also test a theory I have on the whole disappearing texture business. I know people see it far less with the MD-11 versus the 747, but this livery may be the exception to the rule. I made you and Alan the pilots with your initials above the windows. You can see them "here" (That G took a while too, doh. The screen shot's as always don't do it justice, but here are a couple more."Picture""Picture""Picture""Picture""Picture"

Dan,That is the most awesome thing I've seen on a Flight Simulator aircraft. Lee Marrow, who frequents this forum often with MD-11 repaints converted some FSX paints to FS9 at my request. I think he just converted the files but they were just the skins as I had to copy one of my other MD-11 texture folders and then paste his stuff into it. That's not a big deal for me to do. I also want to say thank you for taking the time to create this paint.

Thanks, glad you like it. I had some minor issues to work through but have it finally finished for FSX. Dan, Private message me your email and I'll send you the FS9 files so you can test them. I don't think fs9 uses the _LM.dds files so you might not be able to get that bonus effect, but the rest should be fine if not. Check your texture folders for the MD-11 and see if you have these two files:
  1. PMDG_MD11_Fuse_Right_LM
  2. PMDG_MD11_Fuse_Left_LM

I'll make the first batch for FS9 later tonight. I still have to look into the it. I know I have to generate the mips, but I don't have an option for 32 bit .bpm files. I'll figure it out, no worries.I have no idea how many files it will be for fs9. I am shooting the bare minimums always, like the read me says in the paintkit. This particular livery however has more files since I added the cargo, did 2 engine sets, and the different lighing, but yes, it's normally best to copy over an existing folder and then overwrite whatever files you get. On that note, I need to upload these things.

Well I finally finished (FSX). I did the passenger too so she's ready for a few legs. As mentioned above, I added two sets of tail light files. The installed ones aren't the better ones, so read the read me and check out the better files :) Also, I re did the passenger lights a little. I tried to put little silhouettes of some peops on board (passenger version). They lights might be too bright for my liking, but if I keep being picky, this will never get done. Let me know though, I don't mind fixing things, and need to know what others think. I'm going to post links direct for now until AVSIM finishes processing. If the link here is dead, it's because I killed it because there on AVSIM at that time.Oh yeah, please drink responsibly:PHere are some pics of the pax:"Picture""Picture""Picture""Picture""Picture""Picture"And finally the files. For those that download them, let me know how they are, bugs, etc... This livery has a lot of Alpha channel action and not sure how they'll perform on different systems. My guess is disappearing VS and fuse, more than normal (although I only had one issue with hours of testing). I hope to have FS9 versions later also."MD-11""MD-11F"

I'm not a the house right now to check the files, but I want to say that .dds is an FSX thing. I also PM'ed my email to you, thanks.

Haha, yeah I know. I meant to to check and see if you have the equivalent. Their name will still be the same, ending in _LM, that's why I didn't include the .dds :( I tried to install an fs9 livery from the pmdg site but there installer see's that I don't have fs9 installed, so can't tell. I also checked on AVSIM but got sick of the errors about files still being down and missing etc.

Both the GE and PW versions of your paint work fine in FS9. I made a copy of another texture and overwrote it yours, I also removed the texture, cfg file from the folder Thanks Dan.

Is it normal for FS9 liveries to glow like that? It looks like somethings off. Also, if you could test the other things I mentioned in the email, like the tail light effect, passenger lights, etc...

It's glowing because of the light bloom from the HDR plug-in (it's not the paint). I test those things right now.

Okay,Your normal tail texture works like a champYour alternate tail only works when the tail lights are on (shows normal tail when off)The cabin lights puts passenger lights when turned on.
