December 7, 200916 yr Don't laugh...I am a newbie with FMS on the MD-11...I will explain what I need to do and maybe someone can direct me to the correct page in the FMS manual that comes with PMDG excellent MD-11For example, I have programmed a flight from KIND to KMEM...I take off and about 45 minutes in flight I decide to switch and land in Louisville, Ky with new star and Runway approach. I attempt to erase the settings and it tells me "not allowed." I tried "Direct to" and fix which works. When I attempt to clear KMEM it still says "not allowed." I have attempted to erase all the waypoints between KIND and KMEM which it allows me to do before TOD but anything after that again "not allowed and the KMEM and Runway that I selected originally cannot be erased. So anybody have a solution, page # or whatever? any help appreciated...Bob FDX183 Bob Adams
December 7, 200916 yr Commercial Member Bob,if you want to change the destination immediately, do a lateral revision of the next waypoint in front of you (call up the LAT REV page using the right LSK). Then enter your new destination in the dedicated area and you're good to go.Markus Markus Burkhard
December 8, 200916 yr Bob,Once you have a runway selected it is necessary to select another runway- you won't be able to clear the runway as a waypoint from the F-PLN page. I typically program my arrival prior to departure, but wait to select the approach/runway. Keeping the runway selection below the discontinuity allows you to make changes to the runway selection without altering that portion of the plan above the discontinuity. Helps when ATC makes last minute changes. This is not always possible, as some arrivals are "tied" to specific runways.Another consideration: if, given your example, KY was previously selected as your alternate, you can easily divert to your alternate by making a lateral revision (left LSK) at any suitable waypoint and selecting 6 Right LSK "ENABLE ALTN".You can also select the REF page followed by 2 Left LSK for a list of the closest airports. From the F-PLN page do a lateral revision (left LSK) at any suitable waypoint and enter a new destination 5 Right LSK (as described above by Markus).Jeffrey Whitaker Jeffrey L. Whitaker

Although you may need more elaborate steps. It was said; "do a lateral revision of the next waypoint in front of you (call up the LAT REV page using the right LSK).", but still had me searching a bit (I'm a tad slow). These are the steps in a more detailed way. From your "F-PLN" page, select your next waypoint in the list (Not the top one, that is the last one you've already passed).Press the Left LSK next to it to bring up the mentioned "LAT REV" page. Enter your new destination and insert it via LSK 5 Right. (Or new co rte in lsk 4R).At this point you'll be good to go, just pick your new RW and approach etc... This will erase any other approaches and RW's you had in the system before hand. I'm glad I found this post since I've never had to change RW's until a little while ago with FSPassengers, I had to do an emergency landing and kept trying to delete leg by leg. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
