calibration and other problems

Featured Replies

Born2fly...not a very good opening to your first post in this community. To see what fs2004 is capable of, please go over to the screenshot forum, in particular look at Fengz posts or others with similar setups. You can also get an idea of what FSX looks like from there too. A far cry from fs98 if you ask me...if set up properly. As for your controllers, as stated, many are using them without any trouble, so please fix your attitude and others will help you. Having 7000 hours IRL flying doesn't necessarily help you set up a flight simulator.Enjoy your stay.

HelloDespite the fact that you have 7000 hours and are obviously a clever chap backed up by a "Computer Guru" no lessYou failed to do a simple search of this forum in order to discover this simple set of instructions--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->Unplug the controller, click Start>Run, type regedit and click OK. In the Registry Editor browse to the following folders in order:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (HKEY_CURRENT_USER if using Vista)SYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlMediaPropertiesPrivatePropertiesDirectInputAnd delete any folder starting with VID_06A3. Plug the controller back in, move it fully a couple of times and see if that has fixed it.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This is a known fault with the calibration on Saitek controllers , I am surprised that your "Computer Guru" did not know thisInstead you jump in here stating that FS 2004 in "A pile of Junk" and that the Controllers are "Junk" when the simple fact is that you have a lack of knowledge with the software and hardware you have bought.I could have told you how to fix this last night but for the tone of your post , I just thought why bother. All you needed to do was to come into the forum and ask simply " I am having a few problems with calibration, what can I do"This would have got you sorted in no time at all. When you read back your opening post do you not feel a little embarrassed, Its the type of rant I expect from my nephews not a 7000 hr pilot.
No, I'm not clever at all, if I was smart I wouldn't flying for a living, I'd be an attorney or something...anyway, did all the above before coming here, it worked OK for a while then got worse. Not embarrassed just realized that FS is just a $30 game. Guess everyone needs a hobby of some kind. Thought it could be used as a tool but will go back to the old way of learning, i.e. cardboard tiger and cockpit poster.Haven't you heard the joke: Mother says to son:"what are you going to do when you grow up?"Son says: "I want to be a pilot"Mother says"oh! my dear, you can't do both"how do I close an account around here?

What is all of this nonsense? Let's take a break, find some maturity and respect for others, than try again another time.CLOSED
