Carenado 206 & W7, FSX

Featured Replies

I've talked with several people who have the same issue as I have, I've recently upgraded to W7 64b and when using the 206 in FSX there's a weird engine noise, I don't know what sets it off but I think it's when you jump to external view the engine sound changes and it gets really high pitched like it's turning 9,000 rpm's...once it's starts the sound doesn't go away at all, when you go back to VC you can still hear it over the normal engine sound..I've even landed & shut down the engine and the sound continues...has anybody here experienced this or know of a fix?

Hey Rixster, I am running Vista 64 and have the same issue. Also, when you start the engine, theres no usual "cough cough-go" sound... it just starts out of nothing... I mean, you dont hear the engine actually starting. The RPM sound start out at speed.

We will take a look at it.Carenado Team

Same here with the stationair sound in win 7 64. Tried reinstalling with admin etc but it made no difference. Its the sharp rasping prop sound that seems to get stuck. I have had it with external and internal views though external is more common. When idling you can blip the throttle and it resets to the correct sounds. Hope this helps..

I just tried this and now the engine revs up every time I give it gas.......keep running into buildings but outside of a few crashes, it works good.........think I will go back and doad the original..............B42L8

This sounds more like a control config issue than a sound patch. I have been using this latest sound patch for over a month and it works perfectly.
