  1. No problem here with PC-12 or ATR (nor any other Add-on for FSx). Just get into the habit of using admin priv when installing anything, even if at the time it seems to make no difference..)
  2. In my opinon a big improvement and a no-brainer upgrade.
  3. FSX on Win7 64bit, so different environment, but never had any ASA or ASE issues with the PC-12. Hope you get it sorted. Are you using BP=0 and overstressing something? PC-12 is heavier than some addons (though not as heavy as PMDG for example).Ian
  4. ROFL, been using it since the day it was released, not encountered one problem that I would call significant.I think you meant when would a patch address whatever issues are relevant to you. Yes I see issues being reported, yes I am sure theya re significant to you and others, no, ASE does not need a patch to make it useable, and its a big improvement over ASA and ASX.Yes I may be feeling grumpy today but such statements give everyone else the wrong impression.Ian
  5. Well FSP penalises for less than 45 mins fuel in the tanks at shutdown and doesnt worry about alternates. All your other points I just allow for some slack up front, plus I usually allow the full 60mins cruise as a little extra in reserve. You dont have to specify an arrival time, but if you do, and you are not too early or too late, then some handy bonus points are on offer.Finaly FSP will penalise incorrect lights, flaps and gear procedures and speeds and incorect handling of any on board emergencies.Overall I find that it really helps with a little more immersion and discourages any "sim short cuts". Thanks for the information, I'll try flying a little faster and see how the fuel pans out, though I think 1350 an hour is going to be nearer the mark.Ian Seager
  6. Many thanks for the excellent information, looks like I need to load fuel for a higher rate.On your poiints, I use FSXPassengers, so i am always trying to hit a failry precise gate time, so juggling speed is quite often what I need to do, especially on flights I am familiar with and for which I have a pretty good predicted flight time. Also with FSXp, I try to get the fuel load down to the minimum (with the mandatory 45mins extra that FSXp imposes) to get the maximum passenger and crew load.Descent is often an area where I can juggle an airspeed gain against a fuel saving though, the penalty for being light on fuel way outweighs the upside of a precise arrival time.Anyway, thanks againIan Seager

The way it has always worked for me is to reclick the navlog with the kneepad open, then it updates the figures with actual speed, time and fuel consumption for the flight (completed legs) so far.It always stops if you miss a waypoint though. At the moment its stopped working all together.Ian
  8. In a similar vein, can i ask about cruise settings? Once back at 98% and leveled out, what power setting is used. Often holding the EGT right to the line gets very close to VNe. Also the manual talks about fuel consumption planning and allowing for 1000lb/hr. To get that you need to come back nearer to 60%ish torque and a cruse speed of around 195 indicated. What would be a "normal" airline profile? If such a thing exists of course..)Ian Seager

Well that is odd since i noticed mine playing up the other day. It wasnt updating the actual flight time, speed and fuel usage as it passed each waypoint on the plan.At first I thought it might be the plane (PMDG Jetsream), but today I noticed that it wasnt working with any of my Carenado planes either. It has always worked before, I use the feature a lot to increase the accuracy of my preflight planning with FSPassengers...how odd...I'd love someone to tell me how to get it back, and no, a full re-install is not an option..)Ian
  10. Well you gonna get both answers. For me SP1 removed all performance issues, mailny cos I never really suffered the pauses that others report. I can only report that for me (with a nice fresh new machine and install) UT2 was always great. The issue of traffic re-insertion still remains and I believe always will remain. Again, with the sequencing of how i start up my flights this is not an issue to me but you would need to bear it in mind. Not all menu options trigger this behaviour (views are ok for example) but going to the map, weather, payload etc screens will. For me, this is simply a non-issue.One negative of SP1 was that I believe they tuned down the traffic density a notch. Now since I got great performance before, perhaps they will allow this density to tune up once the code base (largely new) has settled down. They are also starting to provide tools to allow the import and creation of UT2 style traffic from more traditional BGL type traffic. This will help close off the biggest failing for me, GA traffic could be more dense (though there is quite a lot, rarely visit anywhere without something going on) and of course no cargo or military movements. Finally, one remaining issue and one that I think contributes to a lot of peoples misunderstanding of the package, UT2 only generates static aircraft that have flown recently or are due to fly soon. This can lead to some airports that you might expect to be chokka with aircraft at the gate to look a little sparse, though I guess it helps frame rate. I run all UT2 sliders to max, in all honsetly pegged at 25fps I rarely see dips, especially as you can now tune down the distance at which AI is generated and also what height you will see AI from when they on the ground.OK, ended up longer than I thought, but it seems to me the AI traffic programs are still in religious war ferour status (like graphics add-ons used to be) so read all posts with that in mind.Having bought and tried all the solutions, FOR ME with the flying I DO on MY SYSTEM UT2 is the best solutionLet the games begin......Ian
  11. Yes, Yes and thrice YES!!I did the ASX to ASA upgrade purchase, then downloaded and installed the full ase package and used the ASA key to activate. Purchase and install was a breeze. People are still chasing our the odd issue but as an upgrade from ASX you cant go wrong. I have never used or installed ASA so what the increment over that is I cant say.Not sure if the ASX upgrade to ASA is still offered, nor sure on the status of the free asa-ase upgrade so go check if it is still there and buy it quick...Ian
  12. When I ask ASE to interface with xgraphics, it goes away and builds as many random snapshots as I ask, which is nice..)It doesnt seem to respect the settings I set in xgraphics regarding which textures xgraphics is allowed to replace, which wasnt so nice..(Perhaps it was just me, but I had to go back and reload the aircraft lights textures to get my Duke landing lights back.Could HiFi confirm how this is supposed to work, and if it doesnt indeed respect my Xgraphics settings, perhaps it could in the future..?BTW, I "upgraded" from ASX to ASE and it is night and day better...wish I had gone to ASA earlier...) ..amd great customer service to get such a substantial upgrade at such a great price.Ian Seager
  13. Try forcing a rebuild of the scenery indexes, usually works for me. A defrag beforehand would help also.
  14. Well in my opinion this is a much need improvement. The colours for the UK here in winter were just a very odd washed out pale green. They just didnt seem quite right somehow. Now they look a lot better..
  15. Also I have found a decent trim up before take-off makes the unstick a lot less sudden
