ASE worth the upgrade from ASX?

Featured Replies

I have ASX from an earlier gaming rig that died. I've reinstalled everything on the new rig except haven't done ASX yet. Are the improvements in ASE enough to justify buying it instead?krswen

I can't say since I didn't have ASX, however I did just upgrade from ASA to ASE and it is GREAT. Much better job with the depiction. I love it and is so far the best weather I have ever had in FSX. Although, I am sure some have had issues with it, as is always the case with addons, but so far in the few weeks I have been using it I have had not one issue. It has also not caused me any problems when flying the LDS767.

Yes, Yes and thrice YES!!I did the ASX to ASA upgrade purchase, then downloaded and installed the full ase package and used the ASA key to activate. Purchase and install was a breeze. People are still chasing our the odd issue but as an upgrade from ASX you cant go wrong. I have never used or installed ASA so what the increment over that is I cant say.Not sure if the ASX upgrade to ASA is still offered, nor sure on the status of the free asa-ase upgrade so go check if it is still there and buy it quick...Ian

Does anyone have a screenshot or screenshots of the haze layer that ASE can do? The biggest problem for me with the default FSX weather is the haze/fog layer which is like a solid line, but I heard that ASE can make it a more natural "soft" layer.

Hi,Realize this is from FS9, but the results are the same.
