Hi.There is more than one way of doing it, here is one way, modify the "aircraft.cfg" line as shown below for the C172.Post here if you need more info. Save your file before you mod. it. TVFile "aircraft.cfg" typically found in:C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\c172Change the eyepoint data, make small changes at first.Viewseyepoint= -3.95, -0.85, 2.1 //(feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from reference datum

thanks for the tip,I am not logged in into my Fs computer at the the moment but I will try it tomorrow. Is there by any chance a way to find those coordinates from within FS.I mean, when I adjust the viewpoint to my liking inside fs 9, can I find those coordinates somewhere? It would make life easier than just modifying the cfg file by trial and error...Luc 'Glaudrung' BrusselmansBelgium

Hi Luc and everyone."
Why not download the superb FS RECORDER it's freeware and you can save VC,Tower Views, and much more.Hope this helps,Eddie
Hello Eddie, what we would like is something that after you have set up your preferred position in the VCto be able to save this direct to the aircraft.cfg's views section.this way every time you enter the VC in that aircraft you do not have to mess around setting up your seat position.at the moment we have to manually edit this for every aircraft.I really would like a tool like this, it would save loads of trial and error

Doing the value changes to cfg is the logical way to change/save the VC view. Every aircraft has different values (which are, left to right, Longitudial, Lateral and Vertical) due to 1 seat, 2 seat, scale, size, and ref datum position values. So it's only sure fire way to do it. Everything else is temporary and will 'go away' on reload of another aircraft. Start by putting Sim in windowed mode (Ctrl+Enter) then minimize. Go open cfg and make changes. Reload the aircraft you're working on and check. Hit the 'Backspace' (left arrow), then spacebar (centers view) to make sure it's in 1x zoom and not in a panned postion. The values are in 'feet' so 0.5 is 6 inches. Go from there. Eddie,Not everyone has FSRecorder. And even then it still will use the position (values) found in 'Views' section of cfg, so it too is temporary. And due to every aircraft being different, saving an advanced 'VC View' will only work for that particular aircraft/model.Chuck BNapamule

Reading the info on the FS Recorder site, it sounds like maybe this program would alter the aircraft cfg and hold the last value entered!? "Advanced views (FS2004 only) * multiple tower/spot/VC views, selectable via menu or keyboard * optional manual panning of view direction in tower/spot views * automatic zooming * saving/loading sets of tower/spot/VC views"Looks like, Napamule already answered that...Hmm, says saving though... * saving/loading sets of tower/spot/VC views"

Hi, I did download and try FS Recorder last night. I only used it to see how it would modify the aircraft cfg, views option.I tried modifying one aircraft cfg, and it seemed to modify the cfg for a few planes while I was attempting only one. I uninstalled it.Perhaps I missed something, but I'd recommend modifying each aircraft.cfg manually, that you wish to change. It's simple to do really, Just make a backup of the cfg before you modify it .
