  1. Hi, Trojans sometimes embed themselves deeply into your system and hard to get rid of. You think you have deleted the problem file only to discover later it was embedded under several file names into your system. I found a site you may want to look at.. http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/T...2FBumat!rts This is a quote from part of the page.."Technical Information (Analysis)Trojan:Win32/Bumat!rts is a name used for trojan detections that have been added to our signatures after advanced automated analysis. The generic nature of this detection means that the malicious behaviors exhibited by files detected as Trojan:Win32/Bumat!rts are highly variable and may vary from once instance of this detection to the next. No further information is currently available on this threat. However, should we receive a significant number of reports, then a specific detection will be added to our signatures and a detailed analysis will be added to the encyclopedia."John's advice about getting a registry checker from a magazine disc or a known reputable download site is very good, and you should follow that. Good luck with it!
  2. I found this info doing a Google search..... "This issue can occur if your computer is infected with a SubSeven Trojan virus."http://support.microsoft.com/kb/259279There are 2 links you can use to search for SubSeven.Maybe worth a check.Hope it helps.Opps. I see John already posted this link.Sorry John for the double post.
  3. Every tech I've talked suggested that the system will operate best if the HD isn't cluttered. They recommended not actually using more than half the HD space for optimum performance. That's just my humble opinion. I'm certainly no expert. The more you have on the HD leads to more in the registry..system slows down because it is trying to process too much.Maybe more would have been a better word..Perhaps I am wrong on the hard drive usage.Perhaps 20% free space is sufficient. That could be debated because of the info that is written into the registry every time something is added to the file system. In any case more RAM would be a good idea.
  4. Add more RAM.You are using too much of your hard drive space. As a general rule, the more space you occupy on your H D the less efficient your system will operate.Delete some unnecessary programs, or get a bigger H D.
  5. Hi, I did download and try FS Recorder last night. I only used it to see how it would modify the aircraft cfg, views option.I tried modifying one aircraft cfg, and it seemed to modify the cfg for a few planes while I was attempting only one. I uninstalled it.Perhaps I missed something, but I'd recommend modifying each aircraft.cfg manually, that you wish to change. It's simple to do really, Just make a backup of the cfg before you modify it .
  6. Reading the info on the FS Recorder site, it sounds like maybe this program would alter the aircraft cfg and hold the last value entered!? "Advanced views (FS2004 only) * multiple tower/spot/VC views, selectable via menu or keyboard * optional manual panning of view direction in tower/spot views * automatic zooming * saving/loading sets of tower/spot/VC views"Looks like, Napamule already answered that...Hmm, says saving though... * saving/loading sets of tower/spot/VC views"
  7. Hello, You might find some useful info here.. http://forums.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?t=69171
  8. You might try flying in Switzerland.Just about every flight I've made over there is nice.
  9. Howard's trees is a good one ( treeswap.zip).You can get it at www.flightsim.com . I've tried a few, and it's the best I found.I've been flying using the fall tree textures. The fall tree textures provide some nice color.
  10. muse replied to 738's topic in The FS2004 (FS9) Forum
Howard's tree textures are very good.
  11. Hello all Has anyone found an OceanHeightField that will make the waves more attractive while using ULTIMATE WATER ADVANCED ?I like the texture color of this but the waves leaves some to be desired.I found that wave action can be changed some by replacing the OceanHeightField.bmp.I was curious what others thought, and maybe someone had some suggestions.I've tried changing all the setting within FS...I put the original OceanHeightField.bmp back in the texture folder this morning. The waves are different, but I'm still not satisfied.I was using aquarama, and it is very good, but I find myself constantly trying to improve FS to my liking. I hope someone has some ideas I can try.
  12. I downloaded, and installed Howard's mix the other day. ( Took quite a while on dial-up :( ) The aircraft textures seemed a better , but that was it. Water was not good. Mountains didn't look that much better, if any,in fact I'm not convinced they looked as good. I have USA Extreme Landscapes, and a few other ones by Abacus installed, maybe that's why. :( . I made a backup of FS before installing, and reverted back to it. The weather settings made with Howard's still remained, but I kind of like those. I suppose you can't beat the payware available. There is plenty of freeware available, that seem to make FS9 better...Just be sure to make a backup first. The image below is without Howard's..just thought I should add that.
  13. I was checking the monitor out and discovered the monitor driver was out dated. I got a new one, from LG, I downloaded and installed. The default driver was dated 2001... :( I just made a few long flights, with a few different aircraft. No problems yet. Thanks for the help, Don :(
  14. I believe it did. I tried a few planes that I had altered, and got the line. I also got it with at least one default plane. ( I was choosing planes randomly). There's several ways to overclock my machine. I've had it at 3% using aibooster before.I didn't like aibooster. I figured I'd give 5% a shot manually from bios.I have it back to auto now. It seems faster here, and FS is working good.Maybe I should leave it alone now...:(I was changing some panels around before it happened. I noticed that the 2d cockpit panel would slide up and down if I wanted it to. 1680 x 1050 is a weird screen size and some of the panels take up too much screen space. Under some of the 2d panels was an area that was blacked out. Do you know why it's there, or how to remove it? Where can I find, good, panels designed for 1680 x 1050 resolution screens. I don't use the 2d cockpit to fly much anyway, but it's nice to have a nice one there. In any case it's working ok now..lol :(
  15. Hi vonmar, Maybe it was a combination of fs9, and my video driver. Plus I had my system overclocked 5 %. I reinstalled the video driver, and reset. I reinstalled some of the default planes I got from CD 1, thanks to Opa's help. I stopped overclocking my sys. FS9 won't create the line again now..Hopefully I fixed it. Sometimes in my haste to make FS better, I mess it up instead.. :( Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600OS Manufacturer Microsoft CorporationSystem Name HOME-328B68B5E7System Manufacturer System manufacturerSystem Model System Product NameSystem Type X86-based PCProcessor x86 Family 15 Model 35 Stepping 2 AuthenticAMD ~2211 MhzBIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies, LTD ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE ACPI BIOS Revision 1805, 9/29/2006SMBIOS Version 2.3Windows Directory C:\WINDOWSSystem Directory C:\WINDOWS\system32Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume2Locale United StatesHardware Abstraction Layer Version = "5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2111)"User Name HOME-328B68B5E7\museTime Zone Eastern Daylight TimeTotal Physical Memory 2,048.00 MBAvailable Physical Memory 1.46 GBTotal Virtual Memory 2.00 GBAvailable Virtual Memory 1.96 GBPage File Space 4.85 GBPage File E:\pagefile.sysThat is my info
  16. I don't think it is a Monitor fault. FS9 is the only application I'm getting it on. It's a setting or one of the items in fs itself. I just have to find the right one. I did notice if I hit alt alt enter, to a full window, and go back to windows mode, the line goes away. Thanks for the responses. I will run some tests on my monitor.
  17. Hi Vonmar, I have a LG 22" widescreen flat-panel LCD monitor W2241T. This is the first times I've had the problem with any app. Monitor is relatively new. I had to change something, but I can't figure out what is is. Something from within the game itself has changed. I forgot to mention earlier that I had defragged the fs2004 folder with Game Booster from IBOT.. I hate to have to reinstall this fs...allot of time in this one...lol :(
  18. I have a horizontal line like the one in the pic below that keep showing up. They appear, from any cockpit view or spot, and remain in the same position. To clarify. The line comes onscreen and stays straight, but descends, ascends, banks with the plane..as if it's attached.I just noticed if I take my screen to full back to windowed mode, while flying with the line showing, it will disappear.. I had deleted my fs9.cfg file and let it rebuild itself. Then I changed a few of the lines in the cfg. TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=240[TERRAIN]TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=65.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=20TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=2TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=0TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4The 1st 3 lines can be changed from within FS. TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=512 this line can be changed from within FS.I had did some changes to a few panels and messed up my Cessna panels to a point I can't get them back to default. I have them close I think. I haven a 2 geforce 7600 gt cards set up on sli. I'm using the 93.71 driver. I was told by a tech at Nivdia that 93.71 was the best for this particular card.If anyone can help me with this, or tell me how to get the Cessna's out of the installation discs. I would appreciate it. Photo below...line comes up on a few planes I have tried. Always in the same spot, from any veiw. It moves up and down as I climb or descend. The line will disappear for a while if I change planes, or restart FS. I hope someone can give me some good advice.
  19. Hi Mike, Maybe if you go to control panel/administrative tools/event viewer, you can see what is causing FS to crash. Then you could do a search on that..???
  20. I would start by running a chkdsk /r in the command prompt. If you are unsure how to do this put chkdsk in help and support and it will explain how. Make sure you have an antivirus program, that updates you to the current version, and scan your system, ( I would recommend doing the scan in safe mode.) Ccleaner is CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system. This is a very good, free, program that will scan your registry too. > http://www.ccleaner.com/. I would do a scan in safe mode. This might not help, but it's worth a try. Sounds like NCPRO caused a problem. I would search, and remove all traces of this using regedit. Be very careful in the registry. Problem's can be caused by editing the registry.try resetting Nhancer back to it's default setting too.
