July 3, 200916 yr Hello all, just wondered who's installed Howards mix and what you think of it. Ive downloaded it but would like some users opinioins. Thanks for your feedbackChris Chris Howard
July 3, 200916 yr If you have payware stuff like, GE pro, Flight Environment, FS Elemental, Ultimate terrain series, than don't bother you self with Howards Mix. Cause it is not even close to stuff mentioned above. But if you don't have it, than go for it. And if you chose anyway to install it, better find some water replacement textures for it. Cause for some reason, creator think that brown color of the water is cool or something. My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....
July 3, 200916 yr I like it. It seems to be a much better look than the default textures and does make FS9 look similar to FSX.
July 6, 200916 yr So, i decided to try Howard Mix. And this is a result:Every taxiway, runway on every scenery i got, RUINED!!! Thanks god i have backup of everything. That picture i took is from Frankfurt by Aerosoft. Also ruined are Hannover, Leipzig, Hamburg, new Innsbruck, Vienna...EVERYTHING!!!...Howard Mix... :( My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....
July 6, 200916 yr Hello all, just wondered who's installed Howards mix and what you think of it. Ive downloaded it but would like some users opinioins. Thanks for your feedbackChrisWhile many seem to be enamoured with it, I found it really did not impress me very much - it certainly did not make my default FS2004 look like FSX. So, after using it for a couple of weeks, I reverted back to my default setup.Thankfully I installed HM to a temporary folder first so I could see exactly which files and folders I needed to back up.Just my .02 cents worth.

July 6, 200916 yr Here's some simple advice:If you want FS9 to look like fsX. Buy FSX and install it. Then install SP1 & 2. Then run it at the lowest settings possible. Here's what you will find. FSX at normal settings looks better than fs9 at it's highest settings. Plus it's only a $25 expense.Don't agree. Try it! You will be glad you did. MSFS

July 6, 200916 yr They don't like what? The performance? The graphics?or the financial investment they must make in order to run the sliders at max? MSFS
July 7, 200916 yr They don't like what? The performance? The graphics?or the financial investment they must make in order to run the sliders at max? This subject has been debated to death in numerous posts already - no need to start it up all over again in this thread.

July 7, 200916 yr Here's some simple advice:If you want FS9 to look like fsX...To look similar to FSX, and to look like FSX, are two different things. Howard's Mix make it "SIMILAR" to FSX. And its not good at it...at all! My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....
July 7, 200916 yr I know I am new here, but would like to say this. I have both FS9 and FSX. I like both, but right now, FS9 is more mature and has more going for it along with more add-ons, both free and pay. I enjoy both for what they offer, but FS9 is the better of the 2 I feel. Who cares if it does not look like FSX? It isn't supposed to. Supporter GhostRecon.net | AGgReSsion WhiteKnight77's Place Mike Shannon
July 7, 200916 yr I replaced Howard's Mix with my GE Pro. I kept finding strange things that weren't apparent when I first installed. It's like everything else in Flight Sim, you give it a try, if you don't like it you drop it.

I know you are all saying"fool". Any way is there a short fix without reinstalling FS2004. Thanks in advanceCheersNels
