October 15, 200916 yr Hello, I may be asking for a bit too much here but im looking for suggestions on a flight. Im looking for something with a flight time of around one hour(give or take), I will be flying a b200 so terrain is not an issue. I would also like something that I can download scenery for to make the departure and destination looking good.I have always stuck to the same area when i fly but i need something to give me that spark again. P.S I would prefer north america for now.I hope someone out there can recommend something for me.ThanksGerry Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
October 16, 200916 yr You could try PAKT to PAJN, Its around an hour in the 200. You should be able to find some scenery for it as well. Ketchikan AK to Juneau AK.Have Fun!DB
October 16, 200916 yr You might try flying in Switzerland.Just about every flight I've made over there is nice.
October 16, 200916 yr Grab the two part Glacier Bay scenery by Holger Sandmann and friends -Spectacular Alaskan scenery and many wonderful flying opportunities. If this does not renew your "spark", nothing will.It is available here: glbayv2a.zip and glbayv2b.zipThose are direct links to the two files from Flightsim.com. as the library here is still in limbo.
October 16, 200916 yr For what it is worth, I will 3rd misters Baker and Marshall on their recommendation. Glacier Bay is a great piece of freeware scenery, and if you ever add the payware Misty scenery by the same author for the Ketchikan area it gets even better. Although based on your inquiry, Glacier Bay is the place to start,..... plenty of places in that area alone to fly. As a side note, I have Glacier Bay and Misty Fjords installed and use Active Sky 6.5 and flying anything into PAKT with real world weather will certainly give you sweaty palms quite often. BTW I also fly the KA200 in that area.My best regards to all,Mel
October 16, 200916 yr Go check out www.blueskyscenery.com I'm in the process of downloading some of the Colorado scenery and I'm going to do a KDEN to KASE flight in the Carenado 206 and then go explore a little. Lots of terrain around.Robert Robert J. If you fly today and are using the ASA weather program, you will have a treat.
October 16, 200916 yr Author I will definetly try KCHO, And now that you say i will have quite the treat if i fly today, Guess what, Im getting my flight plan together as we speak.im not sure what to expect when you say treat, will it be nice and clear, or will i be down to minimums on arrival, I guess i will soon find out :( thanks TomUpon checking the weather, I see what you were getting at. Its gonna be a hairy arrival thats for sure. :( Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
October 16, 200916 yr Consider a flight from Victoria (BC) CYYJ (or Vancouver CYVR) to Calgary CYYC with perhaps a stop at Castlegar CYCG. If you can get safely into CYCG in reduced vis you are a very competent pilot. WestJet does the real world CYYJ-CYYC flight with 737-700s in approx one hour. A stop at CYCG will add a few minutes. And if you like low and slow you'll never find a more spectacular landscape. Charts and Approach plates should be available at http://www.czvr.ca/Alex Reid"WestJet 737- Victoria Tower: You're clear for takeoff. Contact Departure--------."
October 16, 200916 yr Author Thank you very much, Being Canadian I will definetly give this a go in my PMDG westjet livery. Although i will be using the 800 model. October 16, 200916 yr Thank you very much, Being Canadian I will definetly give this a go in my PMDG westjet livery. Although i will be using the 800 model.WestJet is using reduced thrust departures from CYYJ- I believe to save fuel. Since I live only a half mile from the flyway I ask flight simmers, in the interest of noise abatement, to also adhere to reduced power settings!!!!! <grin>Alex Reid

Unfortunately, a lot of sharpness is lost when reducing a pic to AVSIM requirements.AR
