December 15, 200916 yr This flight control system has two coolie hats on the stick and one coolie hat on the thrust lever. So far I only use one of them to control the views. Is anyone using more than one? For which functions?I didn't find profiles to download. Are there any for FSX? Best regards from RelaxX
December 15, 200916 yr My upper coolie on the stick is the trim control in the vertical plane, and a view toggle in the horizontal plane. The one on the throttle I use to zoom the moving map in and out that comes with FSFlightKeeper. Although I have the Saitek profiling software installed I hardly ever use it to be honest, my other hardware has plenty of buttons and toggle switches so I dont need the 3 modes available on the X52. Cheers, Andy.
December 15, 200916 yr Author Hi Andy,Your suggestions are great. :( I programmed and tested the 1st two. It's a real progress. You get the "Saitek Programming Award". :( Thanks a lot.Have you more great tips ready? Best regards from RelaxX
December 15, 200916 yr I use the older Saitek profiler on my x45, and the upper coolie I have set as a 4-way and set it to bring up the different panel views (shift-1 to shift-8 including using the pinkie switch). The one on the throttle I also have set as a 4-way, set to incr flap, decr flap, ATC menu, and F2 (reverser).scott s..
December 16, 200916 yr I'm using the second coolie hat on the X52 stick to set A/P height and the coolie hat on the thrust to set A/P heading and speed (some via FSUIPC I think).
December 16, 200916 yr Author @Clipper Ocean Spray: How did you do that? :( I can't find these parameters neither in the FSX settings nor in the FSUIPC. Best regards from RelaxX
December 17, 200916 yr @Clipper Ocean Spray: How did you do that? :( I can't find these parameters neither in the FSX settings nor in the FSUIPC.RelaxX,select the "keypresses" tab in FSUIPC, select a keypress combination not previously assigned to FS or any addons, then choose from the "control when sent" dropdown list, which lists things like "Hdg Bug Dec." Then in the X52 profile editor, assign the keypress to the hat switch. I think you have to assign the hat switch to 4-way or something like that. Also, if you're using a commercial aircraft addon, they often have very easy ways to assign keypresses to autopilot controls, so you can bypass FSUIPC, but you still have to assign the keypress to the hat switch in the X52 profile editor.
December 17, 200916 yr Its quicker to use the buttons and switches tab in FSUIPC which will see the button presses from the X52, then you can cut out the horrible Saitek profiling software altogether. Cheers, Andy.

December 20, 200916 yr Here's a basic video I made a while ago. Ignore the last comment about a VRI key mapper that isn't relevant. Cheers, Andy.
