December 16, 200916 yr we posted last week a review of the L-39C, for those having some difficulty with handling it, it is a useful how to fly guide as well.http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?nam...r=0&thold=0 http://www.lockonfiles.com
December 16, 200916 yr Very nice review of a fabulous aircraft. Tom Risager NGX tutorial: http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=162360 SIDs & STARs Worked Examples: LOWI-UUDD, KSEA-KLAX, EKCH-ENGM, YSCB-YPAD
December 16, 200916 yr From above Link: "Lotus' L-39 does an incredible job recreating the jet down to minute details, even modeling many system failures and warning accurately. I would love to write a detailed breakdown of how the sim differs from the jet here, but I can't. I flew the Lotus L-39 through all of the standard training profiles and even my air show routine and I performed as well as any simulator could. The profiles that work in the real jet work in the sim, as do the procedures. I have started recommending Lotus' software package to all my students as a useful way to practice the checklists and procedures without having to pay to run the engine. After all, FSX and the L-39 add-on cost about the same as three minutes of flying in a real L-39.-Greg Morris is the Chief Pilot of Gauntlet Warbirds, a warbird and aerobatic school outside of Chicago. They operate a Decathlon, Extra 300, T-6, L-29 and L-39."There may not be another MSFS compliant aircraft that has ever come so close to touching the heart and soul of a real flying machine. If you really want to know what it is like to have one of the most exciting life-like flying experiences that you can imagine, without vomiting, strap into the Lotus L-39. When packaged with realistic scenery like FTX, it's alive and magical.See this screenshotSpirit Flyer

It's a `must have` in my book too. The real surprise is that more aircraft manufacturers can't recognise what a great promotional tool FSX and a properly-modelled example of `their` aircraft can be to potential customers. An even smaller band of developers - mostly permed from the list above - have that kind of relationship with the Big Boys Toymakers. If you're selling a million bucks worth of airplane, FSX Gold and your aircraft should be on every marketing departments gift list, perhaps with a tame repainter or two to show what `sirs` new airplane can look like if they go for the gloss paint option and the leather interior... :(

December 17, 200916 yr Cessna does:http://www.cessna.com/citation/mustang.html Yes, but Cirrus did it before them. And are they/you doing it with the Skycatcher? The crucial point is that with FSX/ESP (and Lockheed Martin) and to a lesser extent X-Plane we have reached a fundamental crossroads where the sim is actually no longer a game, it is in fact a simulation. Recognition of that fact by GA and Bizjet makers would open up interesting cross-discipline marketing opportunities recognising the product we fly as a sales tool for the product they sell. It's GOT to be better for sales than T-shirts and scarves, although possibly less beneficial than baseball caps and sunglasses...

As to your "crucial point" statement. Keep an eye on news / press releases tomorrow. And yes, we are the official Cessna partner doing the 162 which is currently in development.Regards,Jim RhoadsFlight1 techBut with all due respect, this is the L39 thread, so I think it is best we leave it there. It is a premium product (L39) and I certainly do not want to be assumed as to leaching in on the thread.By the way... it's never been a game to me.

Who was first matters less than the fact that we all are doing so to some extent.Jim and F1's deal with Cessna is unprecedented as far as we know yet you should see "Licensed Cessna Products" from any number of FS Vendors when the "paper work" is completed. We also agree that this is an L39 thread so we'll just move along and allow it to go back on topic. :(
