Cloud follows plane.

Hi All,Its the FS haze layer that you are seeing. There is no simple fix that I am aware of, but Active Sky Advanced does contain an option to get rid of this layer by installing a clear haze layer texture. Thanks,
There is a simple fix in fact!!!!! fs9envis.zip which contains a file called cirrus_overcast03.bmp. This file resides in the fs9 main texture folder. If the same file can be used in FSX then your prayers are answered.I had this same problem and it was really annoying. Go Here and have a look. With this add on the haze is much more realistic too. It's great not to have to "buy" an addon just to remove this annoying following cloud. In any case it shouldn't be removed as there is often a haze layer especially here close to the Alps where everyone uses wood burning stoves to keep warm! IF the file can be used. Please keep in mind that many environmental textures from FS04 cannot be used in FSX.That file is not a clear texture. What does the temperature/dewpoint data in the METAR or the visibility in the remark portion of the METAR have to do with this issue?

You say you already using REX, and still you have this issue of what looks like cloud following your plane.Either find out how to disable fsx haze layer in rex, or go get ASA which is whaty i use, and i have set the option to disbale fsx haze layer.I also suspect you could fix the issue by taking time to see what fsx /rex weather settings might help
Yes im using REX, but after installing the REX textures I installed FEX. If I install FEX before REX the haze problem disappears...

I noticed this annoying cloud layer following me as well, just the other day. I had installed the HD clouds addon and assumed that it was the culprit, so I reinstalled the default cirrus files but it still showed up. Vololiberista, thanks for the info. I will try this out and let everyone know how it goes.

Maybe you should try removing FEX and just installing REX.Also might i add that the HD clouds in REX2 are everybit as good as FEX clouds, i used to use fex myself. The problem is using REX and FEX together is complicating your setup with obvious side effects.Honest REX2 HD clouds mean you no longer need the FEX clouds. Just make sure that your texture thing in fsx.cfg is set to 4096 not 1024, cuase it goes back to 1024 everytime you change scenery detail in FSX settings.

REX, FEX... SHMEX! Not one of you people has uncovered the actual cause of this phenomenon: The Vast Right-Wing (or Left-Wing) conspiracy. There is a vast (or half-vast) right/left-wing cadre of renegade ATC controllers. You can tell whether they are Right-Wingers or Left-Wingers by the color of their flashy lapel pins: if it's strobing red, they are left-wingers; the right-wingers wear green. These deviant controllers are deliberately vectoring clouds onto your exact course and airspeed. Their purpose in doing this is to prevent all VFR navigation, thereby insuring their own job security.Although this has been going on for years, few pilots noticed it until RVSM made it possible for controllers to put the clouds within 1,000 feet of your altitude. The only reliable fix is to target the clouds (use your IR pod, radar won't work) and SHOOT THEM DOWN!I have to go now. The Attendant is back with my restraints.

The texture referred to above, cirrus_overcast03.bmp, is the exact same texture in both FS9 and FSX. In fact, just about all the cloud textures are exactly the same, including same format, and mostly same dimensions. So, Gerrit's modified textures can be used without any problem in FSX.Best regards.Luis

Well I see I am not the only who has this problem. When Im flying high a cloud seems to follow me.. I do have REX too.

If you are using REX clouds, and you have the latest update, you will not have this problem.
