January 18, 201016 yr I have VISTA Extreme Ultimate 64, FSX and Radar Contact. All current versions. My question is how do I get Radar Contact voice to come thru my headset and not my speakers. Using FSX ATC the sounds come thru the speakers and ATC voice come thru my headset. I can't get that to work the same way with Radar Contact. Radar Contact ATC and Pilot voice and sound come thru my speakers. Nothing thru the headset. What do I have to do to make it work? Thanks to all who reply.Bill

January 18, 201016 yr Author JD,I did search the forum and the ones I found were a couple of years back and for either FS 2004 or XP not VISTA. That is why I created a new post. Hoping for some answer that was current.I'll look again.Thanks.Bill
January 18, 201016 yr Author JD,It doesn't look like you can use a USB headset running RC on the same computer and get ATC from the headset. Running RC on another computer with WideFS doesn't work for me. I guess I don't understand why the same sound setup that works with FSX ATC doesn't work with RC ATC. Not complaining just a question.Thanks.Bill

January 21, 201016 yr maybe try opening FSX, and load your flight with your default sounds. Then go to your Vista control center and change the default sound to your usb headset, then start RC see if that works. I run FS9 and XP. Thats the way I do it, not sure if it will work with your set up. its worth a shot.

February 14, 201016 yr rc only knows about the default sound device.can you make the default sound device the headphones, and then make all of the fsx sound come through the speakers? That's what you have to do. You can leave FSX sounds on speakers - choose speakers, not the default audio device or the sound will go to the headset. Then from the audio control panel set the headset to be the default device. FSX will put it's sounds to the speakers and RC will show up on the headset. My headset is non-usb and works like a charm.
