January 20, 201016 yr Is there any program that generates random failures on each flight? For example, you set random failures except unlike the default failures, it can happen on at any time, and not after a specific amount of minutes? I want something like this so when I continue my Around the World flights, there will be a chance I can get a failure on a flight, but not a 100% chance. For example I might set random failures, but it may happen on my 3rd flight, spontaneously. This would be great, because I would not be certain if there will be a failure like real life, and would have to be more aware of the plane (...not that I wasn't already :(). I could also save my flight and continue flying with failures, until I found a major or regional airport that could "fix" my aircraft. This would increase realism greatly. Thanks for the help in advance!Gman, though I don't think you will be saving flights, you could consider FSPassengersX. This is really a fun utillity that allows you to create an airline, pilots, buy aircraft, and fly them. The key is: you will be critiqued on your flight, plus flight crew is there to add some realism. You can set up the % of flights that will involve a random failure. Stuck gear, flameouts, etc. They are very well done, plus you have the added a touch ambience by having the flight crew and passengers respond to the emergency. You will be credited if you land safely, and so forth. It's really quite a hoot if you haven't tried it--and it's still a hoot! January 20, 201016 yr I second FSPax. Its not just mechanical failures I had one flight where a passenger had a heart attack. I can only assume had I not landed in time he would have expired :( John

Thanks for the help in advance!I wish there was a utility like this. In my case I am interested in having random engine failures only, and fairly often but unpredictable which one, and at what time-much like a checkride. Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
January 20, 201016 yr Author Thanks for the replies. I think I may have confused people, I'm performing the around the world trips with as much realism as possible, so I'm flying them in the Mooney Bravo M20, due to it's range, useful load, and because I have never heard of an airliner flying around the world (Including stops of course). The problem with FSPassengers for me is it is more airline oriented and an incident seems to happen every flight from what I've heard, whether it be tire blows or an electrical failure. I'm looking for a program with an unpredictable failure, along the lines of what may happen in real life. I know a bit of Visual Basic .NET from last year, but I am not sure if this would be enough to program a failure for FSX, as it seems I would need to extensively study the SDK and simconnect. Perhaps if someone can help me with the programming on here, I can try and start and develop in my free time, if Visual Basic will suffice.I think for now, I'll just have to use random failures in the FSX Failure menu and enter in a time so long, that I will not remember and be a bit surprised when I see something has failed lol. :( See You In The Skies...gman!"Impossible things are simply those which so far have never been done." - Elbert Hubbard
