ShafsI don't see any improvement over Vista or any decrease in performance either. I upgraded to 7 soon after it's release, generally I am happy with it. Richard

I don't think it specifically improves FSX at all but it's a far nicer OS than anything they've done up until now. The UI is awesome and the performance is no worse than XP from what I've seen in gaming stuff.

Assuming you're using 32-bit XP though, you will gain the ability to use more than 2GB of User Address space, which will drastically improve OOM errors and that kind of thing. XP is nearly 10 years old, I'd think about upgrading.

Are you using 32 or 64 bit XP? If you're using 32 bit and can upgrade to 64 bit W7, I'd do it without a second thought. I had a noticeable performance gain, in Windows that is, when making that switch while keeping everything else the same.

I just switched from Vista 64 to XP 64, no problems at all with anything I run.

Paul,I've upgraded from Vista 32bit to 64bit Windows 7. I run FSX with 4GB of RAM and it helps out a lot for my system. No OOM errors yet. The Vista and 7 64bit experience and compatibility with 32bit applications is great, especially in 7! I have no issues.I don't know from personal experience, but I have heard that XP 64bit is not as refined at it is in 7. You really should think about moving to a 64bit OS if you are looking to make FSX to run better. Windows 7 64bit is the good next step.Derek R.
