February 3, 201016 yr Hello all of you guys/gals, I have read reviews and other comments stating how they get great FPS on their system. I was wondering if any of you could chime in and compare your perf. with mine if you have a smililar system.i7 OCed to 3.69 Gb or stock ram (not that crazy fast kind)GTX 260 with a 23" full HD moniterASUS Rampage Gene IIW7 64-Bit650W PSU...I hope to upgrade to a 850W Corsair. If that will greatly improve perf. then let me know please. :( My avg. FPS with GA aircraft in a normal or small city is locked at 30.At a big city with GA aircraft it will usually stay around 20-23.Large payware aircraft( take your pick) at small cities will range form 18-30.'' " at large cities will not reach anything higher than 23, but the minimum is 16. February 4, 201016 yr Just a few questionswhat model i7?What speed of ram? What speed of HD?Also a higher psu uisnt going to increase performance at all, you would be wasting your money.

I figured if my hardware cant work to its fullest extent due to lack of power, then a new PSU may do something. Not much, but something. I also have a lot of the aircraft add-ons you do but no scenery add-ons. All stock. How does your perf. rate compared to mine? The 650W PSU should be adequate as long as it's producing the proper voltages. 850W isn't likely to affect framerates. Anyway, framerates is not the only thing to consider in measuring how the program is performing. Art

He can wait until it does, and possibly cause other problems in his hardware components, or he can bite the bullet now and upgrade. With the power demands of today's hardware like the graphic cards, you should have a good quality PSU with a minimum 750W. The higher the better. The PSU os one area, you shouldn't try to skrimp and save! The cleaner the power you have, the less hardware problems you'll have! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

The other problem is the fact that I could play far cry 2 and the original farcry and other games of both caliber at maxed settings....Ultra High on my old monitor which max res. was 1280x1024. Now Farcry doesnt even get into the high 20s while farcry 2 has to drop settings to High and that dips low at times on my new full HD monitor. Call me wrong but my system should be able to play the original farcry way better than what it is doing along with playing farcry2 with ultra high settings. I believe the PSU is starving my hardware of power it needs to keep up with the demands. February 4, 201016 yr 650w should be plenty for his computer, I used to run my i7 on 650 but when I added another 5870, I upgraded. I get excellent frames on my system, but it's one of the highest spec'd i7 920 systems money can buy. I am actually looking to upgrade to the i7 980X upon it's release.
