February 8, 201016 yr Badboom - thanks for the link! From the Seattle P.I. bloggers at the field: (remember, times are PST)"Photographer Josh Trujillo and I are at Paine Field, in Everett, waiting for first flight of Boeing's 747-8 Freighter. The flight window officially opens at 10 a.m., but there are clouds at 200 feet at the moment. The forecast calls for the clouds to burn off, so Boeing will probably wait a bit.Follow our coverage here at and twitter.com/piboeing, see our photo gallery from 747-8 taxi tests on Saturday and follow Boeing's live webcast of 747-8 first flight.Live coverage (newest at top):9:55: Notes from interview a few minutes back with Brian Johnson, deputy test program manager. The plan is to fly to three to five hours, reaching a maximum altitude of 10,000 to 20,000 feet and a top speed of 200 to 200 knots, expanding flight options based on how the plane performs."If things are going well they'll exercise the flaps, the gear, to some systems checks."There's no date estimate for flying the second 747-8 yet. "Probably it depends a lot on today's flight."There were no issues that arose during Saturday's taxi tests. "It was very clean.""The plane's in great shape."9:48: Stopped facing us on the flight line. Pulling up stairs.9:45 a.m.: It's moving9:35 a.m.: Pilots doing pre-flight checks, waiting for weather to improve"My fingers are crossed - It's still early out there!Cheers!
