February 25, 201016 yr Is there any way of slowing the AI Aircraft braking spped down so that they use more of the runway up instead of just a third? Post your replies please, thanks planenutter
February 25, 201016 yr i think it is common that the flight model has been tweaked to get the AI to stop quickly so they get off the runway quickly. They otherwise tend to clog it up as they don't use high-speed exits. Here's a site with some test results of flight model changes and how it impacted the AI:http://janswebsites.110mb.com/flightsim/ai...e-settings.htmlscott s..
February 26, 201016 yr fs9cfg16.zip - FS9 Configurator in the FS9 Utilities library here can control AI taxi speeds and the roll out speed of AI on the runway from what I see, among many other functions. Here's a screenshot of that one function under Tools in its menu.
February 26, 201016 yr If you want a longer landing roll, in the plane's aircraft.cfg file lower the toe_brake_scalar value and/or increase (actually make *more* negative) the minimum throttle value (General Engine section). The former controls the speed reduction in the last part of the landing roll (brakes), the latter controls the speed reduction early on (thrust reverse).Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
February 27, 201016 yr Hello,As it's a AI theatre .. :)Mauritius stock airport. The AI made their departure from the gate ... taxi and take off .. nothing badWhen landing .. at the end of the roll .. they don't return to gate (no taxi) but instead .. they simply disapears from the runway .. (Mauritius is not in the Bermuda triangle .. but in Indian Occean ... lol)Not very important for me .. but if someone have a logical explaination .. it's welcome.Note:I don't have any additional traffic installed (AFAIK)Regards.Gus.
February 27, 201016 yr It might be the stock Afcad. It only has 1 heavy and 4 medium gates. If they are already full, landing traffic will disappear after landing. There are 24 flights in the stock traffic file to/from FIMPColin B
February 27, 201016 yr Hello,Thank you .. seem's you right .. as it is already a A340 on the heavy gate. This stock AFCAD is now obsolete .. as the SSR airport is now equiped with many heavie's gates. And it's actually again in transformations.Regards.Gus.
February 27, 201016 yr Of interest for reference:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIMPhttp://aml.mru.aero/index.php?option=conte...6&Itemid=42 at the table end shows parking capacity.http://aml.mru.aero/images/stories/aml/flash/terminal.swf shows part of terminal layout (not including new construction. There are three jetbridges plus a fourth door to the apron. The specs state there are 12 parking stands. This model in the AVSIM library includes both FIMP and FIMR. It includes an FIMR AFCAD but see the notes regarding ILS Glideslope.mauritius_and_rodrigues.zip is the name in the AVSIM FS9 Scenery Library. If you search on Mauritias you see a taxiway sign update and a scenery update but these files are not available on access.I'm attaching the parking list and AFD layout using ADE9X images. The AFCAD that came with Ultimate Traffic 2007 shows more placed parking yet.
February 28, 201016 yr Hello, Of interest for reference:Thank you very much.BTW I know very well the (former Plaisance) SSR airport I was first there in 1979 (With 707 Air Mauritius and the airport building was like a aeroclub) and last in 2008 ... and going there 20 or more time I know very well this airport and his big improvemernts along all those years .. :)I had also the pleasure to make a ride to Rodrigues with the defunct Twin Otter of Air Mauritius.mauritius_and_rodrigues.zip is the name in the AVSIM FS9 Scenery Library. If you search on Mauritias you see a taxiway sign update and a scenery update but these files are not available on access.I know also the addon you refered (already tested year ago .. I have all of the files) .. but it's not very good on my install (not nice merge in my terrain details)Me think I will rework the original AFCAD for reflect the actual SSR airport gatesNot very important for me .. but if someone have a logical explaination .. it's welcome. As I writed .. is not very important as I rarely use traffic.Regards.Gus.
March 25, 201016 yr If you want a longer landing roll, in the plane's aircraft.cfg file lower the toe_brake_scalar value and/or increase (actually make *more* negative) the minimum throttle value (General Engine section). The former controls the speed reduction in the last part of the landing roll (brakes), the latter controls the speed reduction early on (thrust reverse).Hope this helps,Hi Tom,Wondering if (nae, hoping!) you might be able to shed some more light on this subject....I've gone through the steps you suggested but they haven't changed my AI's roll-out distances.(I'm running FSX)I changed the min_throttle_limit from -0.450000 to -0.999999and the toe_brakes_scale from 0.585 to 0.001 in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\**** folder(and the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Aircraft\**** folder).Am I changing these settings in the 'right' direction? If you could suggest anything I'd appreciate it,Chars,Tapi.
March 25, 201016 yr Hi,I erred in the throttle response - make it *less* negative for less braking effect. So change from your original -0.45 to something like -0.15 and try that. The braking scalar you are changing correctly.Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
March 25, 201016 yr Thanks Tom,That's hit the nail smack bang on the head!!I put the min_throttle_limit right down to -0.05 and the aircraft is rolling out nicely now.Hapi Tapi.
