Missing VC textures, no response from PMDG

Featured Replies

I posted in a thread regarding VC texture issues where Vin replied that the OP should pull his sliders back. I posted http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...t&p=1710477 with a pic showing black VC textures on both the flight panel and OH panel. That was February 4 and it is now February 27 and I have not heard a thing. I must say that I am a little disappointed to say the least at the lack of response from PMDG, furthermore I PM'd Robert Randazzo regarding the issue and he has yet to reply. I am a paying customer and have supported PMDG way back to when I purchased the 737 for FS9 and subsequently purchased further addons for FS9 continuing to FSX. I own pretty much every addon you have produced for both FS platfroms.I have had issues with addons in the past that have been produced by other companies including PMDG and have had mostly all the issues resolved save for a certain company that has produced both the 757 and 767 (I have come to accept their practices and will never purchase from them again). So this brings me to the point that I am trying to make. If the 747-8i has been produced to have the least amount of impact on FSX then why the issue with black VC textures. I have installed the SP and it has not addressed my concern, I still have a non functioning VC and I still have not heard from PMDG. I have zero issues with the other PMDG products as well as the myriad of addons installed into FSX.Will someone from PMDG please reply and explain what is happening with this issue... and please do not instruct me to pull my sliders back. And it would be nice if Robert replied to my PM.Signed, an unhappy customer,

Read the rules. They do not respond to PMs.The only way to get direct response from PMDG is to use their customer support web-portal. They may read all posts but they don't answer all posts. So, if you want to complain that is fine. But if you want to fix the problem in the forum try restating your problem in a way that fellow simmers may want to help out.

Thanks Dan and Ryan,Dan, first off, and to make it clear, I sent a PM to Robert regarding a discussion about the MD-11 he, my son and myself had at the AVSIM conference in Bellevue, Wa. and a certain promise he had made. I let my frustration get the better part of me and should have figured out what the problem was.I have no problem submitting a ticket but when I see a reply from Vin in the thread and I add to the thread regarding the same issue and not get a simple response such as "Please submit a ticket" then I have an issue. Each of the forums/developers have rules regarding support and I try to follow the rules as best I can.Best regards,

Well, I have to eat some crow, and a big helping of it!To save space I deleted the Texture.GEF and Texture.PWF because I thought that I would never fly them. Needless to say that I did not verify the contents of the folders. Had I done that I would have realized there are important VC.DDS textures contained within those files. So, in the end I wish to apologize to you folks at PMDG for being a bit of a pain in the you know what and I would like to retract the statement that you do not provide customer service... as Dan pointed out a quick read of the rules would have put me in the right place. As I stated earlier I believe you make fine products and I will continue to support PMDG.This time, this customer was wrong, if you are able please change the title to my post to read "I have to eat crow."Thanks and best regards,

We all make mistakes, I admire people that recognize that in themselves.

Hi Robert, Thanks for coming back and giving us an update. As you now know, deleting any folder within the PMDG structure can often lead to big problems.Just a heads up in regards to our support and forum policies:1) The only way to guarantee PMDG support is to submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com2) While we (PMDG members) often respond on this forum, the PMDG forum is really a community based support system which allows customers to share ideas, thoughts and offer support to one another. Posting on the PMDG forum does not guarantee a response from PMDG.3) Sending an Avsim Private Message (PM) is probably the worst way to seek support. We seldom respond to PMs.Glad you are up and running again.
