March 4, 201016 yr Hello, still learning this beast. :( My question is related to the doors. When CabinCrew during pre start check comes in the cockpit and tells me, if we're ready to start boarding, I answer with "Yes, we are", and she answers "Ok" (or something like that - than I can hear people entering the airplane). But after that no doors were opened! Isn't it so, that the CabinCrew should open the doors after my "Yes, we are"? The only open door is the front door (opened right at the start of the pre start check). In the config-panel doors are set to "yes" and AES is set to "yes".After that, when I make the PA: "Cabin crew disarm slides and open doors" this command is understood (reading it on the green bar) but nothing happens, doors are still closed. But after the PA: "Cabin crew extend aft stairway" the aft stairway will be extended.Bernhard
March 4, 201016 yr HiI believe only the main cabin door (front) is opened for boarding, if DOORS is set to YES in the FS2Crew config window. Any other doors will need to be opened manually.
March 4, 201016 yr Author But........if I remember right, on my very first attempt with FS2Crew all the doors were opened and I remember the noise from the crew opening the doors?? But maybe my memories were wrong ??Bernhard
March 4, 201016 yr When you click on START, the main cabin door and the cargo hold doors should open. No other doors.Additionally, if you are parked at a stand, GATE DEP set to NO and AES to NO, the front airstairs should kick out. If AES is set to YES, the airstairs will remain in, as AES will provide the mobile airstairs. You can lower the rear stairs if you wish by making the command you mentioned.Bryan may have to correct me on this as I'm not sure, but the doors is one of the rare actions that fs2crew has to do "blind" using simulated keystrokes, as the door positions can't be read. Have you modified the default maddog shortcuts?
March 4, 201016 yr By the way, when you say "noise from opening the doors" do you mean the clunks of the cargo hold doors being opened, or the subtle jet whine, as if the cockpit door was ajar? The latter is controlled by the FLT DK DOOR switch on the overhead, try it :(
March 4, 201016 yr Author Front door and cargo doors do open (before CabinCrew asks for boarding). But I thought that rear door and stairway door does open, when boarding starts?I have not changed the default doors-shortcuts. But I remember from MD11 that controlling doors seem a bit difficult for FS2Crew.Bernhard
March 4, 201016 yr All door handling is done in the beginning and end of the Preflight events, nothing in between. If you think of it, at a gate, you normally have no need to open the aft stairs or rear door, as everything is boarded via the jetway. Ok, maybe the service door on the starboard side could be briefly open when the catering is brought in (not modelling that though :( ), but in other cases, rarely. As for the stand position, let's just say that the default setting is to embark/disembark using a single exit as the company wants to save cost of hinges and hydraulics maintenance for the rear stairs :(
March 4, 201016 yr Author But unfortunatly AES brings a stairway to the rear door and now my passangers are standing before a closed door, coz my cabin crew will not open that door :( You can imagine, that they were very upset........and I can understand it ! :( Bernhard

AES aircraft config >> uncheck the rear door as an option, and no AES stairway will appear. B) Quote
March 4, 201016 yr Author Oh guys..........you make me crazy. My company is a no-frills company, boarding the airplane in less than 10 minutes. So I need 3 open doors to push all those lousy passengers inside that iron pipe! :( Bernhard
