No, we are not. Bringing the base product up to MD-11 standards is a complete rebuild of the models at the very least. If we revisit the 747, it will be as an all new product down the road some time, like what we're doing with the NGX now.

And I do believe (and hope) that that will be a fully simulated 747-800. You're already half way there :(

Sorry, but this is just a pet peeve lately hehe - it isn't "-800", Boeing has stopped using hundreds, it's just a single number "-8" and then i for the passenger version (intercontinental) and F for the passenger version.Same applies to the 787 - the version in test flights right now is the 787-8, the -9 will follow it.

Ah really? I didn't know that. Makes sense though. It's easier to say :( And I assume you meant "F for the cargo/freighter version" :(

All I used for a very lonnng time was only the PMDG 747-400. The MD-11 just wasn't my tastes. Well, I decided to get the MD-11 a few months ago and hardly fly anything other now. I thought there was no way to top the 747's attention to detail but wow was I way off. Not to insult the queen, but the MD-11 in my opinion, is a quantum leap above it. I would buy a new 747 model in a heart beat! I rather a complete from the ground up approach that has been mentioned.

I had the opposite reaction. I bought the MD-11 because I knew it would be a quality model, and it is. But after the initial fun of learning the different way the MD-11 operates, I found myself going back to the 747 which is still my primary aircraft for FSX. I just prefer way Boeing does their cockpits, FMC flow and flight controls, and the fact that the 747 is such a beautiful bird. The MD-11 is an interesting looking aircraft, but not a great thing of beauty to my eye. +1 for a ground up remake. Jeff P.

Although i complete remake wouldnt be bad, i would much prefer a new plane. I think once the 777 comes out, most 747 lovers will be learning the T7?
