VC windows

Featured Replies

Hi Folks.I have an annoying habit, not me, the sim!!. When I point at some switches etc. with my mouse in the VC I find that other parts of the VC windows pop up. That is to say, if I point at say the glareshield switches then perhaps the center pedestal or some other part of the display that makes up the flightdeck will open up in the bottom half of the screen. This happens in both FS9 and FSX and with various aircraft. Is this a graphics card fault, a cfg file setting or an FS setting that I may have overlooked? Does anyone else experience this anomoly?Regards to all...Ken

I really have no clue what you're talking about. Maybe a screenshot can better illustrate it?

Hi RED1,if you don't know what I'm talking about then I assume that you don't have this problem happening to you.here's a screeny. This is when I point at the TCAS button on what is the top part of the screen which is correct at the time. When I point at a switch or button then another screen breaks through, (bottom screen)Regards...Ken

A clue may be that the lower panel is zoomed in a bit compared with the upper panel- and also the viewpoint has changed. It's lowered on the bottom panel. (compare the extreme tops of the glare shields at the center windscreen post post.) Something is triggering zooming and a looking lower viewpointBeyond that clue I'm stumped. Alex Reid

Hi Alex. Thanks for the input. The problem does not always appear exactly like that screeny. Sometimes it is only a small window at the bottom that will appear. It is like when you select a new window almost. It has just gone midnight here and my sim is shut down now. I will post another screeny with a different effect tomorrow. I will also check my settings to see if something is triggering a new view window.Regards...Ken

Have you tried the PMDG or FSX support forum, too? As this is obviously a screen shot from FSX, but it's in the FS9 forum. Never seen that problem before, though. :(

Zach The OP stated that it happens with both FS9 and FSX with various aircraft Ken does this happen as you move your mouse over the buttons or do you click on them for this to happen ?What happens if you turn cockpit tool tips off ?You definitely have a strange problem there :(

This effect also started happening to me a short while ago. Sometimes part of the screen shows the current correct screen and the lower part seems to be a snapshot of some earlier screen draw, which seems usually to be when the plane is still sat on the ground before or during getting clearance. I'm suspecting its a faulty graphics card as I'm getting other errors in that area.DaveI should add that the bottom of the screen is sometimes even an external view of the airplane!

Hi Folks,Mark, this happens when I roll the mouse up in preparation to click on a switch or operate a wheel event. It only happens with the VC. I usually fly with FS9 but since becoming involved with an online flying club I have started using FSX more and more and as you know most a/c now come with a VC which is quite highly developed. I am now flying a lot with the VC which has meant a significant increase in the number of times this is happening. Perhaps it is a graphic card issue. Thanks also to the rest of you who have chipped in with advice. It certainly is a strange one.Regards...Ken

Hi,This used to happen to me using my old computer, although in both 2D and VC. I eventually solved it by finding a video driver version that didn't do this.Hope this helps,

Hello Tom.Thanks for the tip. That did the trick. I don't want to take credit away from you but I can't understand why I did not think of that. I have just updated to a new pc albeit second user, and I suppose that I never gave newer drivers a second thought. Anyway, a visit to NGO has done the trick. Incidentally, I also updated the driver for my sound card and I am getting a much better sound quality. My friends on TeamSpeak had been saying that my sound output was muffled. Perhaps that was a clue!!Anyway, thanks again and thanks also to you other guys for your input. Hopefully someone else may see this thread and learn from it.Regards to all...Ken
