March 5, 201016 yr Has anyone dowmloaded this aircraft from the f AVSIM front page? Have you been able to get the aircraft/s started? Does the yellow version only load with a fusalage and no wings? My instrument panel has no markings on the gauges.I followed the readme file installation instructions and as mentioned above, nothing seems to work .Any ideas?Terry
March 6, 201016 yr Author Well it looks like no one else has ether had any problems with this aircraft or has not down loaded it. Sure wish I knew how to get it started as the instructions in the read me file does not seem to work.Terry
March 6, 201016 yr Hi Terry,i have no problems with V1.1 but i'm not sure where i downloaded her. Perhaps using FSDS_T-6.ZIP @Flightsim.com will solve your problem. For the engine start see the checklist (AT6G_check.htm). You have to use the switches in the VC.
March 7, 201016 yr Author Thanks for answering. Is there any other program or file I need to have other than FSX and this T-6 aircraft file?Since this is ver 1.1 do I need Ver 1.0?Terry
March 7, 201016 yr I believe ver. 1.1 is a complete version of the aircraft and 1.0 is not needed. You definitely need to follow the instructions for starting the engine. It took me a while to get it going as well. ;) Alexander Alonso
March 7, 201016 yr Author There is something wrong with the file. I only have a "Blank" instrument panel (no gauges/switches) ) and few if any other sub panels in the VC cockpit. also the yellow T-6 is only a fuselage and wing spare as viewed from outside the aircraft while the other two are complete aircraft except for the panel gauges. Also I am unable to open the file cab for the T-6 aircraft where as I can view any of the default panels file cabs to see what file are in there. Gauges etc)
March 7, 201016 yr HiIf your not seeing the gauges on the main panel which are all 3d modeled gauges then A: you havnt installed it correctly and the textures are not where they should be B: your trying to run the aircraft under the fsx version straight out of the box,You need at least sp1 or sp2 (its designed for use with the FSX Acceleration pack)Sorry about the confusion re downloads but FSDS_T6_VER1.1.zip is the fully updated Texan no other files needed.Flightsim.com has the only orig ver(bar the sites the skimmed it from there) and a separate update.CheersWozza
March 7, 201016 yr Author I have both SP1 and SP2 and "Negative" on the acceleration pack The aircraft folder is in the FSX aircraft folder and the three effects files are in the effects folder as per the install instructions..
March 7, 201016 yr Author Here are some pictures to show what the aircraft is looking like. (no gauges or wings on the yellow and no gauges on the other two..
March 7, 201016 yr Try and list all the contents of the unpacked file, someone who has it working may be able to point out what "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
March 8, 201016 yr HiThats pretty much how the aircraft showed in fsx standard ..that said I find it very interesting that the only textuires you have not showing are all the 2048X2048 ones The yellow aircraft was done by another designer in 2048X2048 and the gauge.dds is also 2048X2048Im not 100% sure but think fsx out of the box didnt support large texture sizes I could be wrong but maybe the sp1 or sp2 didnt stick or didnt install fully.Or your video card cant handle larger texture sizes.......highly unlikely as just about all dx9 compat cards do Wozza
March 9, 201016 yr Author It appears that I did not have SP1 and 2 for FSX. Only Sps for windows XP. The airrcaft now starts and the rest of the yellow bird appears. I think the reason I did not have SP1 and 2 loaded was on my old P-4 system, I had a lot of problems with them. Now with the new quad core it sems to run a little better. Thanks for all of the help.Terry
