March 9, 201016 yr IMHO the Leonardo Maddog is the best simulator for FSX at the moment. One of the reason I feel this way is the systems modeling and the failure generator with the MEL incorporated into the sim.Secondly, the FS2Crew addon for the Maddog really rounds out this excellent sim, although I feel it is missing one very small detail... I would love to see Bryan make a small addon to the current Maddog voice commander which would incorporate the abnormals for the Maddog into FS2Crew.In a Multicrew Environment, the collaboration of the flight crew durring abnormal procedures is really the bread and butter where the flightcrew comes together as a succesfull team. Bryan, do you think it would be possible and at the same time profitable for your company to create another product that is a companion addon to the Maddog Voice Commander which would incorporate the abnormals into the sim?I would definately purchase sucha addon...JB Buzz313th
March 10, 201016 yr Commercial Member Hi JB,It's a great idea, but the problem with abnormals is they are very hard to program, if not virtually impossible, given that I can't "read" the required data out of the aircraft to do them properly. March 10, 201016 yr Author Hi JB,It's a great idea, but the problem with abnormals is they are very hard to program, if not virtually impossible, given that I can't "read" the required data out of the aircraft to do them properly. Cheers,I don't understand. Wouldn't they work the same as the normal flos and CL's? I mean, once you detected, for instance a tripped generator, then the Capt, would call the appropriate CL. The phrase would trigger the FO to run through thier flos and the abnormal would be cleared or not cleared. The only reason I would see the need to "read" the aircraft, would be for the items on the Maddog MEL to trigger the correct CL's.Either way, I love the current voice commander.. Thanks again.JB Buzz313th

Abnormal and Emergency procedures are much more complicated than Normal Procedures. Take a look at the Abnormal Proc... You'll see tons of "If this, do that and if not do this. Then, if this happens, switch this ON and if not, switch it OFF. After that, if critical phase, do that, if not, continue like this" etc...I guess that the best way to simulate abnormal crew management (if not sharing the cockpit with a real human) can be done with an already existant voice command : "You have control".That way, YOU, as the Captain, gives the simple task (fly the aircraft) to the F/O and manage the difficult task (system management and securizing the aircraft) by yourself.Best regards and best flights.Cyril

In reality, the Flos and checklists are initiated by the crew and they exist to simplify the tasks of the flight crew by having two brains instead of one....Lemme just give one example....Your all set up in cruise in the Maddog and the left engine fire warning sequence goes off. The first thing you do is initiate the flos for that situation which would be to secure the fuel, stop the flow and secure the engine. Then the next thing you do is call, "Engine Fire Check", This voice command would simply engage the fs2crew engine to have the FO start his/her flos and then run through the checklist. No need for the engine to know that a engine fire existed. The only reason it might be necessary to have the FS2Crew addon know the state of the aircraft is to defeat the False Positives. So, incase you accidentally say something that sounds like, "Engine Fire Check", FS2Crew doesn't shut a good engine down on you.Come to think of it now, I guess your right, False positives could cause havok on sucha feature since any false positives in an abnormal checklist would be a showstopper.Maybe there could be a failsafe switch? I dunno, just thinking aloud.JB Buzz313th
March 11, 201016 yr ohhhhh!!!! that is a great idea. Go!!!! Brian go ahead and give as the MEL voice for you great product coupled with the best in show a/c in the fs word. Thanks!!!! :(
March 17, 201016 yr You know I thought about this recently? Is there a way to "connect" the Caution Panel to the speech recognition and the whole abnormal procedures system? For instance, a generator trips itself offline. This "activates" the speech recognition to be "ready" to recognise a "Generator failure" command made by the pilot. It can do the procedure the same way it does a normal checklist, and when it arrives at a "if this happens do this" the copilot may ask for a "clearance" to the pilot. For example, just guessing here, the generator failure checklist reads "if generator was brought online again, do this", the copilot asks for the condition: "Generator restored online?", and depending on your response, he/she continues with the procedure. The response by the pilot may be Yes/No answers, so the whole implementation is easier.Although I do acknowledge this would be hard work...but in any case, is just an idea.
