March 9, 201016 yr I run Sophos Antivirus, and today, out of the blue, it has started treating bglman.dll (found in the modules folder) as a Mal Spyware file, which it then blocks.I think that bglman.dll was installed by Cloud9 when I bought the Phantom and Starfighter, and this problem is seriously affecting me being able to run FS9.Does anyone else use Sophos, and have you had a similar problem? Thanks,Neil
March 9, 201016 yr Hello, I think that bglman.dll was installed by Cloud9 when I bought the Phantom and Starfighter, and this problem is seriously affecting me being able to run FS9.Some antiviruses (if not all) offer the option to exclude files from being detected (by the run of antivirus or the realtime scanning) and quarantined.Have you check if this option is available in Sophos Antivirus ?Option in CA antivirus:Exclude Files and Folders from the On-demand ScanTo set file exclusions from the on-demand scanner, you can modify the On-demand Scanner Exclusion List.To exclude files or folders from the on-demand scannerSelect the Options tab on the left side of the CA Anti-virus window. The Options window appears.Click Modify in the On-demand Scanner row. The On-demand Scanner Exclusions window opens.Click Add.The Exclusion List Entry window appears.Enter the path and name of the file or folder that you want to exclude from the scan. Note: You can use the Browse button to exclude an entire folder or use wildcards to exclude an entire group of files. For example, to use a wildcard to exclude all .doc files, you can enter *.doc into the Exclusions: field. The name of the entry appears in the Exclusion List Entry window.Click OK.Note: If you are using Windows Vista, the User Account Control window may appear, prompting you to respond. Administrative privileges are required to complete this action. Respond to the User Account Control prompt to continue. The Exclusion List is configured, and the entries listed are not scanned by the On-demand Scanner.Important! If you do not have a specific reason to use the Exclusion List, we recommend that you do not experiment with it. Excluding files and folders from being scanned can lead to virus infection. Edit the On-demand Scan Exclusion ListTo change items that are excluded from the on-demand scan, you can edit the On-demand Scan Exclusion List.To edit items that are excluded from the on-demand scannerSelect the Options tab on the left side of the CA Anti-virus window. The Options window appears.Click Modify in the On-demand Scanner row.The On-demand Scanner Exclusions window opens.Click the entry that you want to edit. The entry is highlighted.Click Edit. The Exclusion List Entry window appears.Edit your entry in the field provided or use the Browse button to make the desired change, and click OK.Note: If you are using Windows Vista, the User Account Control window may appear, prompting you to respond. Administrative privileges are required to complete this action. Respond to the User Account Control prompt to continue. The exclusion list is configured and the edited entries listed are not scanned by the On-demand Scanner.Regards.Gus.
March 9, 201016 yr Author Thanks for the reply.Sophos would not allow me to add the file to the Quarantine list, but after a bit of discussion with the Sophos support desk, they put me on the right track, and I am now ignoring the problem.Strange how this harmless file suddenly is flagged up as being potentially harmful.Neil

It has happened many times after virus definitions updates. Sometimes the structure of familiar files is suddenly (and falsely) recognized as a threat pattern using the new definitions...DJ
March 9, 201016 yr bglman is used by Cloud9/FSDreamteam to copy protect its payware scenery. I guess it works by modifying the scenery files in some way while FS is running, so that just copying the scenery files without running bglman won't work. This kind of run-time modifying probably looks like what certain malware might do, so the AV program gets "suspicious". This is why I'm not a big fan of the FSDreamteam approach, though I certainly understand why they do it and the author tries to provide prompt support when users have issues with it.scott s..

Also having same problem with a file from Eaglesoft, but had figured that one out. On another note, anyone run across a message: CREATION FAILED, CHECK TO SEE IF SOUND FILE IS AVAILABLE? That file on the Citation X V 2.0 causes a crash after a while.Best to all, Clay
