Just wondering if you have the FSX SP2 installed as it adds the large address aware flag to the FSX.exe.

I don't run with ai traffic at all, not even boats. I have tweaked to nicks guide and latest drivers for everything. Also run fsx with acceleration. I even checked with the cff explorer to make sure the large address aware check box was indeed checked

DuckbilledBy default Win 7 installs a "default" WDDM graphics card driver which in the Device Manager comes up with "WDDM" in the driver version. This has given some issues on some computers (it may work on some - probably if you use DX10 preview exclusively). The big problem is if you have auto updates set on, Win 7 can reinstall this WDDM driver (over any driver you may have installed) and because you haven't unistalled the old driver removed driver remnants, you may get issues again. So, you need to make sure that you have installed a current WHQL nVidia/ATI driver manually (after removing any old drivers, etc). As I understand it, you can't delete the "default" WDDM driver, so you install on top.It was just another thought to see if it would solve the OP's issue.RegardsPeterH

Idaho, we have almost the same system. I am thinking it has something to do with multi monitor set ups. I use Nicks settings as well. Nicks recommendation is to switch to XP64Altstiff, what does the following mean and what do I do about it"FSX SP2 installed as it adds the large address aware flag to the FSX.exe"I have Acceleration installed but not the standalone SP2.I manually install drivers and I have not seen a case where W7 installs drivers over the one I have installed. This is what I do:Uninstall all NVIDIA entries.Boot in to safe mode and run driver sweeperreboot and install new driverMany have this problem and I have not seen a definite fix for it yet. Sure, I could lower traffic settings but I am not having trouble with FPS. I don't think it is the issue. If the default driver can be removed from the system, does anyone know how? My card is using the NVIDIA driver but there could be bit's of something left over I suppose since driver sweeper doesn't clean MS drivers.

By default, 32-bit Windows applications cannot access more than 2GB of memory. However, the developer can set the LARGEADDRESSAWARE flag when linking the application, allowing it use memory beyond 2GB. This flag is set by the ACES team in SP2 and Acceleration, so you are good.

Thanks.Ok. so that leads me to the next question. I have my NVIDA drivers installed properly but the default one concerns me. I can remove all traces of previous NVIDA drivers but I don't know how to remove all traves of the windows default driver. I have never allowed the default driver to install but they may have done it when the shop built my rig before they installed the NVIDA drivers. It is possible that they never fully removed it.
