March 31, 201016 yr Luis, where did you get those charts? ..............................I'd like to know too. I've been looking for a while.
March 31, 201016 yr Sorry, guys, I should have indicated the source. Since there are a lot of French islands in the region, try the French S.I.A. (Aeronautical Information Service) here:http://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/htm...eset_aip_uk.htmThis is the English language version of the web site - Francophones will know how to get the v.o. site.Because of the way in which the site is designed (darn frames!), it can be a little difficult to find the en-route charts. Try clicking on the bottom image of manuals for French Antilles, Guyana, etc. to open another frame/page.Then, click on the AIP line. This takes you to a frame where you can select the en-route charts, and then finally presents the low altitude (inf Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
March 31, 201016 yr Thank you very much Luis! That's a great resource for the Caribbean, the en-route charts are very good and there's aerodrome charts available too for all the French airports in the region. Among them these, which I very happy to be able to now use: TFFR - Le Raizet; TFFJ - St. Barthelemy; TFFF - Martinique; SOCA - Cayenne Rochambeau; TFFG - Grand Case. Most of the info on the charts is in French and English, which is very good as I'm sorry to say my French is pretty poor (working to improve it). Thanks again.
April 1, 201016 yr Thanks, thats a big help. It looks like most of them are under 10000 when going from isl to Isl.Thanks also for the charts link!Gary
April 1, 201016 yr No problem, Gary. I suppose that it is also important to consider best glide speed for the aircraft and that this is an important factor when determining MEA when flying over water.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
April 1, 201016 yr You can look at flightaware.com. They seem to be mostly in the 10000-12000 ft range Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
