April 2, 201016 yr Hello guys!I am not a WX expert at all! I've recently bought ASE in expectation that it will work in a similar way to its predecessor AS6.5 - in terms of auto-generation of weather themes based on WX-influenced. But it is not that simple... So, I would like to ask for your support to coordinate the work of both REX and ASE in examples. My request is simple.Could you please provide here the numbers/names of REX themes for each ASE configuration, i.e.:UniversalStormyIcy, etc.Is this possible?!? Thank you very much indeed! Regards,Victor Quebec

My request is simple.Could you please provide here the numbers/names of REX themes for each ASE configuration, i.e.:UniversalStormyIcy, etc.Is this possible?!? Thank you very much indeed! Here's what you do:1: Start up Rex2 and then click on the WEATHER tab at the top middle. Then when the mask comes up, pick the SECOND one...use REX random weather themes. That will open another mask. Place your closest home airport in the airport mask...and then the rest is pretty intuitive. After you have your first theme created...I started with SUMMER and then created 3 Summer's(Light, Moderate, Severe). After you create each one..and after REX2 tells you the weather texture were loaded into FSX, open for the first time ASE. Go to Graphics and find the snapshot mask. Start to take your first snapshot. If like me, you created a 'Light' Summer condition, then label the snapshot as 'Summer (Light)' and then place it in your Universal, or your Clear. Reduce ASE to the task bar, and go back to the REX random weather screen. Choose Summer for the season, and then MODERATE for the severity. Press OK...and let REX2 create the scenario. Then send it to FSX via REX2. Wait until it tells you the textures were loaded...and then go back to your ASE screen and create another snapshot...with a label of course of; Summer (Moderate) and then place it either in Universal, or perhaps RAIN...Stormy...etc. For myself, I placed LIGHT and MODERATE in UNIVERSAL and SEVERE in STORMY. Then....go to town making as many as you want...or you could cover LIGHT, MODEARATE, SEVERE in all the seasons. For all of the above, you do NOT need to have FSX running in the background.Hope this helped.Mitch
April 3, 201016 yr Author Thank you very much, Mitch!I will definitely try your method. Your recommendation indeed sounds VERY logical - why I didn't think about it before...??? :D Regards,Victor Quebec
April 3, 201016 yr Just a quick question, and sorry to jump in, but Im using REX 2 with ASE and just wanted to see if my method is the same as doing the snapshots feature. Before each flight, I'll open REX and load textures based on my flightplan and real world weather. Once those are loaded into FS, i'll load ASE and FSX. Does doing the several different snapshots method work/look better than what I'm doing now? Have been a bit confused with that. Thanks! September 18, 201015 yr Thanks for help, this thread is also interesting me. I don't understand this:1) I have to open REX, create (for example) SUMMER LIGHT, install in FSX, open ASE and create Snapshot, correct?or2) I have to create all 3 themes, SUMMER LIGHT, MODERATE and SEVERE and THEN install in FSX, open ASE and take snapshot?which is correct? September 19, 201015 yr Hi,Your #1 example! Many thanks! Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
September 24, 201015 yr So after completing the listed instructions, once in ASE, you just have to select "Install Selected" to install the particular snapshot theme you created? How is this different than just installing the snapshot directly from REX (based on your flightplan weather), loading ASE, and flying?
