April 2, 201016 yr Hi Everyone,Well, it was good while it lasted, service for Jeppesen SimCharts ended April 1, 2010. It was a great program that I will miss, I hope they have a change of heart, maybe charge for a renewable subscription to keep the service going. April 2, 201016 yr Hi, Mike. Even sadder still for my family and friends!! You see, I paid for a LIFETIME subscription to Jeppesen's just two short years ago, and since they have unilaterally decided to shut down the chart service it can only mean one thing: I must be dead! And I was so young . . . soooooooo young! :( PS -- I'll just bet it was costing them a fortune to maintain :( Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. April 3, 201016 yr For the continental US high altitude route charts (FAA) the complete set is about $29. A complete set of low altitude IFR routes is about $90 or about $5 per area. A popular vendor is:http://sportys.com/PilotShop/category/730or check with your local area pilot shop. Sometimes if you purchase some products from them they would be willing to throw in outdated charts or TERPS (they pull off the title section) that would otherwise be destroyed.Terminal Procedure charts (TERPS) for the FAA airports I get free in airport bundles or individual as .pdf downloads from flightaware.com.UK information is here (registration no longer required):http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index...p;Itemid=3.htmlThis site gives charts for European areas. Free registration is required for the basic service which includes charts for airports and enroute. Access at least every ninety days to keep registration current. Site navigartion is a bit different but complete searches by country and chart type are incorporated.http://www.eurocontrol.int/ead/public/stan.../EAD_Basic.htmlAustralia on-line charts;http://www.airservices.gov.au/publications/aip.asp then select the chart type including airport and enroute types.VATSIM chapters also offer information.
April 3, 201016 yr Author Hi Ron,I went the expensive route, actually my wife went the expensive route. My birthday is April 6th and my wife asked me what I wanted, I said Jeppview and she got it for me. :( Former Beta Tester - (for a few companies) - As well as provide Regional Voice Set Recordings Two: AMD-9950X | One: AMD-7950X3D | Three: Asus TUF 4090s | Three: 64GB DDR5 RAM 6000mhz | Three: Cosair 1300 P/S | Three: 990Pro 2TB NVME One: Eugenius ECS2512 - 2.5 GHz Switch | Three: Ice Giant Elite CPU Coolers | Three: 75" 4K UHDTVs | One: Boeing 737NG Flight Deck
April 5, 201016 yr Here's a cost effective source of current IFR NACO charts. www.av8orcharts.com provides the NACO charts for download (donation supported). These charts are formatted to print on 8.5x11 paper and are the actual current instrument charts.
April 5, 201016 yr As much as I miss SimCharts, the charts were begining to show their age. I've found the most effective way to get domestic charts is to go to the local flying club and grab expired NACO booklets. Joe Sherrill
