April 7, 201016 yr Using FSX SP2, XP Home SP3.no matter what airport I go to there are no GA aircraft visible. I only see large commercial A/C at the largest airports, none at the smaller airports. I installed FSX GA-Traffic (fsxgarc2.zip) some time ago and it seemed to install properly but it doesn't seem to be working. I have the GA slider up all the way in display/aircraft. I have the other slider set at 82. Can someone help me fix this so that I can see airplanes sitting at airports instead of me being the only one there? Thanks.

Thanks.I have to ask..... you say you installed the program, but did you then run the program (it should be on your start menu) so it could create the required Traffic file? The creation of the Traffic file allows you to select exactly how it is to be done. The process takes some time.If you installed the program to the default location, there is a complete manual named GA-Traffic_English_Manual.pdf in the folder here: C:\Program Files\FSX GA-TrafficHope that helps.

April 7, 201016 yr Do you have this product? If so how is it?I have the FSX version (it's free) but do not use it as most of my flying is done in FS2004.I did audition the FS2004 version a year or so ago and found it had a "bug" relating to adjusting the amount of T and G's it created. Some folks just love the program but I decided it was not my cup of tea. My setup primarily uses WOAI for AI airlines with a few of their GA packages plus some GA setups of my own.I would suggest you check it out and see if it suits your needs.Just my 2 cents worth.
April 7, 201016 yr Fire up this bad boy: http://www.flightsim2004-fanatics.com/uplo...A/Def_GA_DL.htmThrow the .BGL files in your scenery/world/scenery folder. It's all the default GA traffic with edited flightplans for almost EVERY default airport. Great stuff.
April 7, 201016 yr Author The file traffic-ga.bgl is in scenery\world\scenery. It is 208,394KB in size. So it seems to be where it is supposed to be but I don't see a single AI GA aircraft anywhere. What can be causeing this?

What can be causeing this? The only way it could possibly "not show up" would be if you have any other traffic .bgl file that uses the FS9 type compiled plans. The presence of them will totally supress the use of FSX compiled traffic plans...Rename every other traffic .bgl you have except for the traffic-ga.bgl file and then test to see if they now appear... April 9, 201016 yr Author In the same folder as the traffic-ga.bgl I have about 50 World of AI bgl files. Do I have to rename/delete these files?
April 9, 201016 yr In the same folder as the traffic-ga.bgl I have about 50 World of AI bgl files. Do I have to rename/delete these files? As a test, simply create a new temporary folder and move those 50 WOAI traffic files into it.Then see if the GA aircraft appear where you expect them to be.If so, move the traffic files back where they belong and use a conversion tool such as the one in the free AI Flight Planner by Don Grovestine. With it you can convert multiple traffic files in one session. Be sure to have it append FSX to the converted traffic file names and then remove the old traffic files which do not have the FSX as a part of the name. It will not take long to do.But make the test first to be sure that is what the problem is.
April 10, 201016 yr Author My dear David, you have solved my problem! I followed your instructions and found thw WoAI packages was the problem. I installed and ran the AI Flight Planner and all is well now. Both programs are working compatibly with each other and I'm getting all the GA and commercial aircraft I want. Thank you very much for your very helpful advice.
April 10, 201016 yr Moderator David simply described a better process than mine, but the results are the same. I'm happy you've "solved" your problem, nonetheless. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
