Hi, I hope somebody can jump in and help me with this.. anyways..I thought I got my settings just right when after 5 mins of flying I got all these dots all over the screen. First there were only a few then the graphics driver carshed and then..sad.gif look at the pic please . I'm including my fsx.cfg as well.What should I change ? I assume you have a back up copy of the .cfg file if you need it. That's always an option. The first thing I would try is change "Usepools=0" to "Usepools=1". Then I would try removing (or commenting out) the tweaks one by one until you resolve this issue. Good luck, Bruce.

If your not wanting to the the tweek and you want to use a bufferpool just add it in like so:[bUFFERPOOLS]Poolsize=N (replace N with your desired value)

I also had this issue, but it was solved for me by locking my frames @ 28 inside FSX. In complex areas I do get lower frames, but the poolsize=0 tweak makes my FSX so smooth that I don't really mind that :)

In complex areas I do get >lower frames, but the poolsize=0 tweak makes my FSX so smooth that I don't really mind that :)I'm locking my frames using fps limiter.Locked them at 30 but I got those "snow flakes".I will try to lock them at 26 or so.Locking the frames from within fsx is not so good for me...Unless I lock them at 46 or so...I will have to see if I can keep usepools=0 because that is what helps reducing stutters together with texturemaxload 9 or 12.At least I noticed a marked improvement after applying those 2 tweaks..not sure it is placebo effect.

Yeah I got the same result with FPS limiter and therefore I decided that I had no other choice than managing FPS through FSX itself.. I noticed that snow is caused by (or, at least, associated with) high value of FPS. The thing with FPSlimiter (for me though) is that I sometimes get very short surges to 50 FPS or so and then down to 12 after which it goes to my target value again. I think that these surges cause the snow because they allow for a high FPS number, even though it is for a very short period of time.If there would be a fix for these surges, then FPSLimiter would be a viable option for me again..

we are in the same barrel then.Locked them fsp at 30...up they go to 50ish and down to 10-12 and up again to 30.Are you using all the tweaks or just some ?

Well I don't exactly know what you mean by all the tweaks I can tell you that I use: HIGHMEMFIX, STALE_BUFFER_TRESHOLD, Poolsize=0, Affinitymask=14, texturemaxload=6, and Fiber_frame_time_fraction=0.25. In combination with framerate locked in FSX at 28 FPS, I get perfect smooth flight in the air and on the ground (using airport addons from Aerosoft/FSDT) I get FPS in the upper teens and lower 20s but because of the poolsize=0 the experience is rather smooth so it does not annoy me that much.. I am quite happy with my settings at this point, but would there be any fix for the surges that I have with FPSLimiter it would be awesome.

Ever considered to identify the cause of these surges? Do you get them if you don't apply any fsx.cfg tweaks? If a clean fsx.cfg doesn't result in any surges you might trying to add one tweak after another and in that way identify what tweak that introduces the surges and, if possible, modify that tweak to eliminate or reduce the surges.

Have you guys tried setting your Pre-Render to 1? The default value is 3 and this setting is changed in the Nvidia control panel or via nhancer.

I meant all the tweaks suggested by bojote.Looks like I have to add the tweaks one by one and test, test test.I'm not too thrilled because I have been spending more time tweaking than flying lately but it looks like it's the only way to get fsx to run smooth and nice.
