April 15, 201016 yr I thought long and hard about this post because I didn't want to stifle work done in support of our user community. However, I think that the discussion of issues can have a positive effect. What I'm referring to are the errors cropping up in flightplans posted on this site. There have been quite a number of FPs released lately that have errors in them (some of them major). For example, mis-identified aircraft, aircraft listed in the aircraft.cfg file with no corresponding flight(s) in the flightplans.txt file, aircraft listed in the readme file with no resource (this from a developer that provides both textures and FPs), and aircraft registrations mentioned in the flightplan.txt file with associations to incorrect aircraft models. Some of these errors make specific FPs unusable.Normally, I don't say anything about this sort of thing. If I don't like something I can just ignore it. But, there are a large number of users who automatically install FPs without looking at the specifics. So, I thought I would say something. If this post affends someone I'm sorry. But, even freeware resources need to have some quality control applied to them before release.BTW - I contacted a developer about this issue and the response was - gee, what do you expect with so many FPs released. I guess this means that quantity over quality is the norm now.So, check your downloaded FPs for errors. Note: Since I'm not an expert on flight programming I didn't look at the flights.fb
April 15, 201016 yr Fb,Not only do I agree with you but when installing bulk downloaded flight plans, many of those AI flights go to airports from which (or to which) you never fly yourself. This results in you not actually seeing the active AIs concerned and that more importantly, unnecessary AI ballast clutters up the AI engine, thereby decreasing frame rates.I always make my own specific flight plans via the TTools program, so that all my AI flights fly only between my favorite addon airports. In this way it's also possible to use addon local AI airlines, which makes the whole experience a lot more realistic.Hans
April 15, 201016 yr Aircraft Analyser 2005 is your friend.I always run it immediately after a new AI install. In fairness, there are 149 ways to screw up in producing AI packages, so I just fix the boobs and remain grateful for the work done.I had the pleasure of installing a Russian AI package manually just recently, and it certainly makes you appreciate the automated installers!
April 15, 201016 yr ACA 2005 is nice (hope 2010 gets released some day).AITM v2 is also very good for fixing and editing FPs. AIFP 1.6 is good, also covers FSX and differences, but not quite as easy as AITM.scott s..
